It was one of the best knives I’ve ever had for the price
It sharpens very well, but in turn, it takes a lot of sharpening because it seems the doll quickly

Great knife
My knife came with a black blade bearing the S&W logo and marked "Special Tactical". Cosmetically looks very nice. The blade is VERY sharp. The grip is some kind of rubberized stuff that is hard and held on with enough screws that it's not going anywhere. The built in belt clip is functional and can be removed. It's not visible in the pictures very well. There is a small bump on the back of the blade to help you open it, and a rivet on the blade as well, but of which are visible. The blade is held in place with a springy metal blocking lever of the kind you find on the cheap flea market knives, but appears to be of much better quality and the protruding ridge is cut to give you a grip on it when you go to release the blade. All in all, this is a nice knife that makes a good companion to a S&W firearm (if you can find one of those to buy). After watching the Doomsday Preppers show, it seems carrying more than one knife is a realistic practice, and this knife is a good general purpose device that I hope none of us ever has to use for anything except slicing cheese or making marshmallow sticks!

A decent cheap knife...
It's a twelve dollar knife {or thereabouts}. It arrived sharp, workmanship appears good {blade in line, knife opens and closes smoothly. Comfortable in my hand, no flaws or rough edges so it should make an adequate working knife. The flipper is not helpful, the blade's opening is far too tight. If I can find a way to adjust it without loosening everything else, that would be helpful. But it is still a one hand opener with the tab on the blade, just not as quick and easy as a true flipper. {If quick is what you need, get the Kershaw assisted opens, and the Speedsafes are a good choice. I have one I seriously abuse and it still works great}So, this knife:If I'd paid more, I might be annoyed. But I didn't, so I'm not.

Irritating design flaw
I purchased one of these a while back and really liked the knife except that when snapped open or the blade pushed into the fully open position, the lock slips over completely past the blade and you need a screw driver to pry it back over so you can close the blade. At first, I thought this was just a one off defect, so I ordered a new one, but the new one has the same problem so it is a design flaw instead. Otherwise, I really like the knife. I use it every day. I encounter the problem perhaps 1 in 8-10 times I use the knife.

Best Affordable EDC Knife
I have had one for 20 years and just bought another. This is the best everyday carry knife in my opinion. Cost to lifespan ratio is great and if you lose it no worries it didn't cost much.

Perfect for son
Bought this for my son to have with him while he went on his Alaska trip. Nice and compact for hiking.

Great way to loose a finger.
Total pos. Flipper doesn't work, neither does the liner lock. Cant believe S&W would sell such a poor product. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

a good knife
It's a good knife for the price, came out of the box super sharp (as usual with brand new knives) but maitains its sharpness pretty well, rubber handle is comfortable and fits in hand well with a slight gaurd nub that helps open it and protect users fingers from an accidental slip. Tanto point is easter to sharpen (i think) because it doesnt have a curve in blade its just a straight edge. I'v had lots of folders that fell appart and were junk but this one holds well, i keep comeing back to it anyway.
