I started my flooring project with a regular utility knife, which worked, but was painfully slow. I switched over to a rotary tool with a carpet blade, then to a mini cutter, tried a heavy duty scissor. They all worked, but cutting up the whole house would've been a chore. Went on youtube, saw some videos where people did comparisons, and recommended this. This made short work of effortlessly cutting up the carpet into any size (for dumping). Love the tool, and it's crazy sharp.

My basement took on water and at first I was trying to pull up carpet so I could flip it upside down to make it easier to cut. Then a friend in the carpet biz suggested I try his carpet knife so I could cut thru the top down to the concrete floor in my basement. With some downward pressure, it cut like butter. So I went online to find a tool like his and found this one. Different brand, but exactly the same result. Good value, sturdy carpet knife!
