MXR® Rockman® X100™ Analog Tone Processor

Ever since I was a kid the sound of Boston is a sound I’ve always wanted to be able to get and finally we have that sound. The pedal is of fantastic quality and durable. The sound it makes is exactly the sound I’ve been wanting all these years. Great value for the very unique sound you can get. Functionally is super easy to use. With the tap of your foot on the bottom and the small adjustment on the clean or distortion and you’ll sound just like Boston. Great quality and glad then finally made this item more available.

So nice to hear that classic sound again. Wether your playing your electric guitar or an acoustic electric the sound is awesome. I would make sure you have an echo pedal because this new MXR pedal doesn’t have echo like the original Rockman X100 headphone amp from the 80’s. Either way it’s still a recommended addition to any pedal board setup because you can never have enough different variations of chorus, distortion, compression etc. This one a keeper!! Highly recommended. 🎸

A great pedal that captures the classic Rockman sound. If you have been wanting a classic X100… this is the closest you will get without paying $500+ for an old model. The problem with the old gear is it may need to be serviced, so this pedal is the way to go. I think this pedal sounds best paired with a delay, a compressor and an eq. In recordings, doubling a rhythm guitar on another track with this pedal yields a great sound. You have a lot of options to get the sound you want with this pedal paired with others or with an amp. Or you can just go straight with this pedal… no amp sim required. Recommended!

The "Clean 2" setting is amazing and is now my go-to clean sound for recording, so it gets 4 stars for that. The other 3 settings have more mids than I like, but it does nail the Boston lead sound. The chorus sounds good, but cannot be adjusted. The only tone-shaping control it has for each setting is the Input level, which adds compression and clean boost. The compression settings cannot be adjusted. So that's what you get: 4 sounds plus a compressor and chorus.

I was so excited that this pedal finally came out and I was so disappointed. For one you had to purchase a special adapter and connector that was an extra $165 from a website. I basically get the same sound out of my chorus pedal. I loved the old Rockman headphones back in the day.

This is amazing, sounds exactly like the real thing. Works great as a standalone pedal, or through an amp/cab.
