Q: Does the axe have a protective cover so all the Karens on the hiking trails don’t freak out?

Yes it has a semi hard rubber cover. Mine does not fit well or snap together well. Does nothing to hide the fact it’s an axe. Karen will freak out.

Q: Is this long enough for a 6’5” man to use?

No, I'm 5'10". I removed about 1 inch off of end to make into a functional cane. I have a 32" inseam, so unless you are all body and no legs I don't think this will work for you. The base is egg shaped so would also be difficult to make an extention unless you are a skilled craftsmen. To bad though, it really is a cool cane.

No it has a semi-rigid plastic end cap. Mine seems to have good traction on a laminate floor but I would not trust the end cap for long term use or multi-surface traction. You can put a rubber cap on but it does not come with one.
