Effects Pedal Kit - MOD Kits, The Thunderdrive Deluxe, Overdrive

A couple of the screws to open the enclosure to get out the rest of the kit stripped out immediately. I was using a regular appropriately sized screw driver. If just the screws are this bad, I'm not sure what to think of the quality of the rest of the components.UPDATE:I was able to put this thing together and the rest of the kit was much better than the enclosure and screws would suggest. It was a fun first pedal build and it worked first time without problems. The instructions were fairly clear, but the order of things was bit funky. I would recommend reading ahead and trying to solder some parts before mounting the main terminal piece in to the enclosure. I am still pretty disappointed with the quality of the enclosure. It should have been a bit bigger (barely fit over the battery) and the paint job looked pretty bad. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this kit to someone first starting out building pedals.

This was my second pedal build and I absolutely love the effect I get out of it. It was quite easy to assemble, yet quite satisfying to complete.The only complaint is that the instructions (page 7, section 3, step 2) had me connect both lugs 2 and 3 on the distortion potentiometer to the lead on the first 0.1uf capacitor. The pedal didn't work at first, all I could hear was the sound of the switch flipping and a little noise when I turned the pots. So I disconnected lug 3 from the capacitor lead and grounded it to the top, or bottom I suppose, of the pot and it sounds great.I would certainly recommend this pedal. It was a simple, quick, and financially reasonable way to get a great sound out of your equipment.

This was a fun build, but lacks a 9v adapter, and I cannot attach the back plate do to lack of space for the 9v battery

Well made product with easy to follow directions. Customer service is good. 2 diodes were missing so I had to make a radioshack trip but customer service was willing to make it right I was just impatient. I will be buying other kits!

As a novice I found this impossible to build. I put it back on the shelf. If I had not already tried to do step number one. I.d send it back.

Was missing 1 potentiometer upon arrival. Contacted seller and they sent a new pot very quickly. The pedal kit is pretty easy to put together. The overdrive isn't the most versatile or useful but it is decent. The clean-boost is pretty sweet though.

Great introduction to pedal building if you already have soldering experience. The directions are well made so it is super easy to follow and build correctly. Very satisfying. Probably will want to revisit and mod to get a sound more tailored to me.
