Q: I read the instruction, but confused. there are 3 distinct indoor sections, and the "spray mix" concentrate varies with each. (fleas indoors).

This is what we did: 1 oz of IG Regulator to 1 gal of water; mix well. My husband sprayed our hardwood and tile floors while I stayed outdoors with the dogs. Open the windows as there is an odor but it will go away fairly quickly. We stayed out in our back yard for about an hour. Then we went back inside and my husband sprayed the trays from the dogs crates outdoors on our patio (we feed them in crates). To spray outdoors, we used a hose end sprayer and sprayed late at night so the dogs wouldn't walk on it and so it could soak into the areas well. Outdoors must be sprayed every 21 days. Indoors only needs done every 6-7 months. Hubby sprayed the yard twice; we've never had to re-spray indoors. It worked perfectly and we were flea free. This year, we've had no fleas.

Q: When applied to carpet, after it's dried, does vacuuming remove it and reduce it's effectiveness?

It will not hurt to vacuum. Be warned----your vacuum will stop growing.

Q: Why can't these people list the active ingredients of their insect control products so you don't have to hunt?

The active ingredient is indeed listed on the label, but the photo is very blurry. They do their best to hide the active ingredient % because they do not want you to know that they are selling a watered down version!!! The label states 1.3% for the active ingredient: 2-(1-Methyl-2-(4-Phenoxphenoxy) Ethoxy) Pyridine

Q: Does it work for bird mites, please? And how bad is the smell and how long does it remain for? Thank you.

I dont know about bird mites (not sure what those are) but there really isnt a smell. I wore a face mask when spraying and maybe smelled a little something at first but nothing I remember. I used this back in Jan/Feb and havent had a flea in my house ever since. Highly recommend treating the animal for the bugs first and then doing the regulator....you should be bug free afterwards.
