Now it is perfect and my son loves it
My son loves this kendama, the only problem is the paint chips. There is no outer coating (varnish, lacquer) over the blue paint, so whenever the ball hits the mallet or the top it chips slightly. We had a friend spray a layer of clear lacquer over the top and let it dry a few days. Now it is perfect and my son loves it. I would think twice about the paint choice unless you plan to put a protective layer of clear varnish over the top.

Poor Paint Quality
We were not pleased with the paint. It started chipping from the moment my son started playing it. You would think there would be a finish put on it to prevent this from happening.

Awesome Kendama!
