Couldn't be more pleased with my EARGO SE's!
I just couldn't be more pleased with my entire Eargo experience. Let's just first get out of the way that the hearing aids are tremendous technology and have met all my expectations for improving my hearing. The first day I got them we went to dinner with friends at a somewhat noisy restaurant that we'd gone to the week before. My wife was stunned that I didn't have to say "sorry, what?" once - because I could hear our conversation the whole evening. Contrast this with them having to repeat everything any time I wasn't looking directly at someone when they started talking. I wasn't really conscious of how much lip reading I'd gotten used to. To be honest, my diminished hearing bothered my wife (& friends and family) more than me, so she's been as much or more pleased than me with the improved hearing. So sure, the devices are great. They "met or exceeded" expectations. Now let me say that everything else - the things I never gave much thought to when deciding to try Eargo has just simply blown me away start to finish. Starting with just the box they come in! My first big impression wasn't the Eargos performance (I hadn't got to them yet) - it was the box. The way it opened and sealed back up, the pull-out tab to get the inner box out, the way the accessories stored, the charging case design. It looked like something Steve Jobs would put out - every single detail seemed to have been meticulously designed to maximize the user experience. So I was completely impressed before I even pulled the devices out of the charging case. So by now Eargo had me expecting extraordinary and has just kept delivering - the ease of initial setup with the app, the setup Orientation Call, the daily hints and reminders emails, the excellent short "how to" videos. I've made a couple of Customer Support inquiries and received prompt and helpful responses. Oh yeah - and the price is amazingly good for the value it adds to my life. It's great to realize there are still companies that are zealous about creating excellent products and customer experiences.

Exceptional performance and value
I have been wearing my new Eargo hearing aids everyday since receiving them. My overall expectations are completely exceeded. It took just a day to get used to them and are very comfortable. They are very small, almost invisible, and are easily inserted into my ears. They do come with three sizes of silicone tips to help customize the fit. I actually use one small tip for my left ear and a medium for the right. Setting up the hearing aids was very simple and straight forward with the intuitive phone app. Using the app allows for switching modes depending upon the environment you are in, which changes the effectiveness of the hearing aids. I have found them very useful during meetings, especially ones in large rooms with multiple people. Peoples’ voices seem clearer, less muffled and easier to understand. This really has help me stay focused and attentive during work meetings as well as club meetings. Being in crowded situations has been a challenge for quite some time but wearing these in a crowded bar/restaurant or any noisy situation is incredible. The sound quality and clarity are excellent. It’s easy to discern who is speaking and makes the experience easier, more enjoyable and less exhausting. Friends have commented that I seem much more engaged in these types of settings. Overall, I am so pleased with these hearing aids and highly recommend them.

My EargoSE drain the phone battery. Not a good situation
I'm exchanging emails with Eargo over the following. It is, as of now, unresolved. Eargo definitely drains my phone battery. I finally took note 2 nights ago that the reason my phone has been dead in the morning is because of Eargo's "background activity." See the attached screen shot. Eargo said to close the app on the phone, which I did this morning. Nevertheless, between noon and 7pm today, eargo drained 1/2 my battery life with more "background activity." Is Eargo constantly connected through my phone to their servers to monitor my usage? Why doesn't it operate like other devices that run infrequently in the background? My concern is when I really need it, I'll find my phone dead because of Eargo. I'd return these, but my Amazon window is closed. Update: Eargo confirms battery drain by background activity is a problem they have no solution for at this time. The only way to stop this is to delete their app, which I’ve done.

Revised review comfortable and sound is clear...but
I have only had these for a few days but they seem to work well. The app isn't the best but it is not bad either. Sounds are very natural and crisp. Good choice for the money. Review continues Day 5: Day 1 and 2 were great but the charger has been causing problems ever since. Trying to figure out what all the blinking lights are trying to say. It might be headed back to Eargo soon. Shouldn't have to fight the app and charger every day.

Great Quality and Investment
I'm 69 and after years of trying and experimenting with various hearing aids I just gave up and lived with the thought of dealing with hearing loss. By chance I was shopping on Amazon and saw these, the SE model. I decided to give it one last try. I've got six grandkids and never heard a word they said and it was frustrating for PAPA to always ask over and over again 'what did you say'? I bought these for several reasons, first there is not a comparable priced product on the market with all these feature and second these are almost impossible to detect once in the ear. Don't be hesitant about ordering these on line. If you can program a phone or a simple tech item these are that easy. No need to go to a store or have someone set up or sell you a model you don't need I received these within ways of ordering and was immediately impressed with the packaging. Everthing you need is in the box and easy to set up. Downloading the APP makes it very user friendly and it walks you through the entire set up as if you were getting an audio exam. It sets up each ear with a series of tests and then programs the aids based on your hearing situation. The technology will blow you away. I've had these for several days and I've learned to tweek them a little depending on the situation and crowd setting and it takes just seconds to adjust if you like. By the way if you have any questions EARGO has a great tech support staff to help you out. I'd recommend these to anyone with even minimal hearing loss, you will not regret your purchase.

Eargo SE
I purchased my Eargo’s a few months ago when I turned 40. I tried both the Eargo 7 and the Eargo SE. Overall I liked the fit and function of the Eargo SE’s better. After running the setup program three times, I was able to get them set to my hearing preferences “just right” and I have not found a need to adjust them further. I wanted hearing aids that I could just put in and forget them. That being said, i don’t really use or need to use any of the other presets like TV, or meetings, etc. Usually the only thing I adjust is the volume. I like to start at a lower, comfortable volume when I first put them in, and then adjust the volume as needed after my ears get used to having them in. I found if not, some sounds like sitting a glass down or flipping a light switch can seem too loud or unexpected. I researched hearing aids for along time before purchasing the Eargo SE’s and I am very happy with my purchase. The ultimate deciding factor for me was due to my age, I wanted something completely invisible when when I was wearing them, as well as these were the only model both prescription or non-prescription that were rechargeable. I had tried other hearing products in the past that ultimately did not work for me, and I KNEW that I wanted something rechargeable. Having to buy batteries, make sure you take them with you wherever you go, or change them at inconvenient times or places just didn’t work for me, and also reduced the invisibility factor, and just frankly made me feel “old”. These Eargo SE’s have a small carrying case that easily fits in my pocket and holds up to 5 additional charges, so I never have to worry about running out of charges, even when I am traveling. And lastly, I have had bad experiences with purchasing, in my opinion, overpriced prescription hearing aids and having to have them professionally set. I never could get them adjusted just right for my comfort and liking, and hated to have to make repeat visits and wait at the doctor’s office to have them set, only to leave less than happy, knowing I would have to come back again. So ultimately I returned these prescription hearing aids (that I tried years ago) and waited until quality hearing aid equivalents were sold over the counter. One thing I was looking for was the ability to set them up myself, which Eargo offers. I feel their products are on par with the prescription hearing aids, at a fraction of the cost. Also, I liked their built in hearing test (best performed in a quite environment) that their competitors didn’t offer. I am glad over the counter hearing aids are improving in quality, but for now, Eargo’s out perform their competitors in performance, quality, features, and cost, at least in the category of completely in the ear models. The non custom ear tips fit well and stay in place all day, I have not had any trouble with the fit, comfort or placement of them in my ears. So overall, I am very pleased with my purchase, and I would definitely buy them again, they have made a huge difference in my life. I can easily enjoy conversations again and not feel lost, confused, or left out, especially when people are talking in a group or in a loud, noisy place such as a restaurant. I also, feel like they are worth the value for the price point. If I had to give one negative, they can sometimes be difficult to seat into the charger to its liking and will flash red on the charging case. Sometimes I have to take them out and put them back in several times to get them to begin charging. Also, it may seem like it is charging only to come back later and they are not. So I do have to check them more often than I would like. There have been two occasions where I thought they had charged all night and one of the hearing aids did, and the other did not. So they were not ready/reliable when I needed them and had to go without them. Other than that I have not had any problems with the hearing aids themselves. Also, the company and customer service are phenomenal, they are very responsive and professional and treat you like a person (which is exceedingly rare these days) and I always don’t mind spending my money or doing business with a company that treats me right. I hope these hearing aids will last me for a few years, but I already know that I would purchase from this company again, as I will need hearing aids for the rest of my life.

I was pleasantly pleased! They have done wonders for such a SMALL device.
I was pleasantly pleased! My hearing issue is somewhat beyond the mild region. I have a hearing aid from Costco. Ver good but bulky. Tried to get a Costco’s “in the ear” but they could not sell me those models since my hearing was a bit above mild (store policy). I asked them if I could try theirs and they let me do it after setting it my hearing profile. I really liked it and it was nearly invisible and the sound quality was great. They recommended that I look into Eargo. Well. I bought the Eargo SE for $1600. It takes about 10 minutes to fit it to your hearing profile (easy to use Eargo App). It is GREAT! You have to download the App and once synced with the Eargo with Bluetooth, you can set the volume and has 4 preset programs. I am extremely happy with it. Please remember that it is TINY and does not have all the bells and whistles like connecting directly to TV or your phone. They have done wonders for such a SMALL device and it has all you need!! Well done and thank you.

Keep it simple and reasonable
I had trials with 3 HAs and I learned a lot about HAs and myself. Trials in order #1. Eargo 7 $2650 #2. Costco's Jabras $1650 in CA #3. Eargo SE $1450. It turned out to be a no brainer for me. Overall impressions of this industry, it's over cooked. Most people and this is according to the audiologists that I candidly spoke with, not just my opinion , don't use 50% of the features of a HA. Most people want to set it and forget it or switch between 2 or 3 programs. I found this absolutely to be the gospel. The only people who use more features are those obsessed with tinkering on their phone or are obsessed to achieve the perfect hearing point. Or the HA just isn't satisfying. The Jabra 7s are ridiculously expensive for OTC and have too much going on. I do prefer the in the canal feature over behind the ear, a lot. At 1st I thought the Jabras were great, for behind the ear HA's functionally they may be the best. The hardware is micro and they're more reasonably priced at $1650. But, I was going crazy with my cheaters, glasses, sunglasses, etc constantly disrupting the HAs connection and irritating my ears. My iphone 15 pro would lose the connection all the time, I found myself restarting my phone no less than 1 time per day. Costco had me on the phone with their support turning this off and turning that on and nothing worked. I spent far too much time on the phone with Costco's Jabra support to make it a good experience. What killed off Jabra in the end was the irritation in my ear which led to me getting an ear infection. Eargo's petals are far less irritating to my inner ear. I also believe its because the receivers were getting jostled by my glasses and constantly stressing and stirring the petals. I don't want to hear they weren't properly adjusted, the audiologist adjusted them. My top 3 priorities were #1 simplicity #2 in the canal. #3 obviously, function as expected. Enter the Eargo SE. I ordered at 2 PM and they arrived the next day by 11 AM. I charged them to full while I read the start up guide and familiarized myself with the components (They arrived nearly fully charged). I put them in my ears, took the on-line hearing test/startup which took about 15 minutes. I chose 4 programs (restaurant, phone, music and normal) then clicked on normal. I have not spoken to a single support person on the SEs. I toggled only between restaurant and normal since, go figure. I go to my phone app just when I'm in and out of crowds. Little irritation. The point is; keep it simple, reasonably priced, and don't get caught up in all the industry hoopla, don't let audiologists and companies overwhelm you with hyping features. Keep it simple, reasonably priced and make yourself happy.....its that easy. To Francisco, they're on warranty for a year so replace them. And what else would you expect an audiologist to say, ha ha ha. My god.
