The over all length of the bayonet (from heal to tip) is 12 3/4" Measure the distance from the bayonet lug to the tip of the barrel. My AR has a 16.5" barrel with a barrel lug to barrel tip distance of 8" and this bayonet works (and looks) fantastic.
