Not so expensive, not so good
Sent it back. Utilizes "coin" type batteries. Never woke my son the first night. Kind of made a dull "squawking" noise when activated. Maybe the unit arrived with "flat" batteries. I did not check the voltage remaining but knew coin batteries aren't the way to go and returned it. Its one of the more reasonably priced units. The clip on the sensor cable is preferable to tape or pin on attachments. Most of this equipment is grossly overpriced - (this isn't rocket science here). We replaced it with: 2014 DryEasy Bedwetting Alarm (uses AAA batteries). At roughly 1/6 to 1/4 the price of other comparable units, we found it to be superior to anything we've looked at.

The Nytone
Was told about this alarm around a month ago by my son's doctor, who said that the alarm was new to the market and a slightly less expensive option to help with my 8 year old boy's bedwetting problem (going on multiple years now without a dry night, so this sounds great). Since I had never heard about a "bedwetting alarm", I checked online but unfortunately couldn't find any reviews specific to his needs.Needless to say though, I decided to take the plunge on the alarm since his doctor mentioned it, and unfortunately was not impressed by the outcome...The first week entailed my son waking up horrified by the loud noises. These same noises actually wound up on around five out of the seven days, scaring him so much that he ended up finishing his "accident" in the bed, before me or my wife could even escort him to the bathroom. The second week he seemed to calm down in terms of the noises but began to sleep right through them. It took us coming to turn off the alarm to actually wake him as we could hear the multitude of different noises coming from his room but they did nothing to wake him!And last week from what we can see the alarm just stopped working all together, he would not wake up to it, half the time the sensor wouldn't stay in the right spot to detect anything (mind you it has no clip and needs to be taped (adhesive tape) to the underwear), and the alarm did less for my son than us just waking him up at a set time ourselves. Not impressed at all, and very cheap poor performance from what we experience. We would Not buy again.Pros:Lightweight1 ToneCheap (In price)Cons:-Useless in waking anyone but us up.-The Sensor (I would have never expected to need to actually use adhesive or masking tape. They really -went cheap on this)-Large Uncomfortable Sensor Pad (My son said it "poked" him and woke him up quite a few times)-Flimsy and feels like it's about to fall apart if my son even rolled onto it (made a weird rattling noise when handled as well)

Success
I researched many of the alarms available and decided on the Nytone alarm because the alarm was audible, but didn't sound like the house was on fire at the same time. I received the alarm very quickly and my 6 year old daughter was very excited to use it. Unfortunately the first alarm had a short in it. I called the company and they shipped another out the same day with a return label for the defective one just as fast as I received the initial one. I used the alarm with both underwear and a pull-up for the first week to avoid excess laundry. The first two nights she had accidents, the alarm went off, so we changed into a dry pair of underwear and pull-up and went back to bed. The next few nights she would catch herself, so the alarm would go off with the first little dribble and then we would get up and she would finish urinating in the toilet. I told her that if she stayed dry with no accidents for 2 weeks, that she would no longer have to wear a pull-up. She had just 2-3 accidents after that, but we were pull-up free after 3 weeks without a single accident. Since then, we have been on several trips with hotel stays and with family without a single episode. I can't wait to tell her pediatrician about this product on our next visit, since it was a concern that I brought up on her 6 year well child visit, but she advised me to not be concerned. I did need to secure the connection between the two pieces, but used a small piece of medical "paper tape" rather than the band-aid type ones included for active sleepers, because my daughter liked to be able to disconnect the connectors so she wasn't beeping and buzzing all the way to the restroom. I am completely satisfied with the product, company and results and would definitely recommend. I really liked that it could be used with a pull-up over the underwear for ease of overall use. This product is very easy to use, a small clip attaches to the outside of the childs underwear and a cuff to go around their upper arm.
