Are these fan-less? i want a pc to plug into my tv that won't make a noise in the living room.

I have two of these (i5 and i7) and both have fans the i7 under load is quite audible but the i5 remains ok most of the time.

Can this have a 2.5 drive and a m2 ssd?

Yes, depends on the model you buy. The GB-BRi7H-8550 comes with the 2.5 slot while GB-BRi7-8550 doesn't.

Does someone try VMware on it? I would like to create a home lab with it .

You should be able to install it with no problem, the major reason being that the board comes with VT-d (Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O) support. This is all that is needed to run VMs on it, though I'm not sure if it's enabled by default in the BIOS setting, this should be pretty straight-forward to do.
