Holbein Meltz Colored Pencil Blender - 35 ml

As a liquid colour blender it is effective. But it takes a long time to dry. Hence one needs to be careful of quantity used for blending.

This Holbein liquid blender for colored pencils is wonderful! Up until trying it, I used only blender pencils, and depending on the size of my coloring image, I might go thru an entire pencil, or more, getting the colors blended. At $3+ per blender pencil, not very cost efficient.This Meltz really goes a long way, just a couple of drops can literally blend a whole picture, so don't be put off by the small bottle size.I've used it on Prismas, Polychromos, Derwent metalics, Gold Horse, Qili brand pencils and it works great on all of them. A couple times I've blended first with a pencil and then gone over some areas with the Meltz for a smoothed out finish.Only thing I suggest is stay away from using brushes to apply. You'll saturate your paper unnecessarily and lose fine control. Instead use a make-up fine point q-tip. I found some on Amazon that are bamboo, so I'm not worried about a cardboard core wicking the solution away. A couple drops on a precise swab goes a lonnng way! And there is absolutely no odor!
