Q: How wide does the sensor pick up? Does it cover a full 180 degrees to activate whenever someone is walking down a hallway?

I can't prove 180 because you would have to walk in the wall where it hangs but probably about 160 degrees when you slink along the edge of the wall, the light will go on.

Q: our bathrooms have no windows and are dark, so does the light stay on all day or only when someone goes into the room

Only when someone goes into the room within range of the motion-detector light.

Q: Description says that it has motion sensing and light sensing technology. Does it stay on in the dark?

This motion sensing light only works in a dark/dimly lit room and stays on for a couple of minutes then shuts itself off until motion is sensed again.

Q: Is the brushed nickel real metal?

Unfortunately, the brushed nickel is real plastic. Not metal. Fortunately the plug is metal ;)
