Empire Carryall 34

I normally do not buy anything except black but I am so glad I got the Merlot color in the Empire 34. It's a dark, oxblood red with just a tinge of purple. It's dark enough that it looks amazing with all of my solid black outfits, but it's different enough to be surprising. I have the OG Empire 26 (which they sadly do not make anymore) and this bag is so different that it's almost like they're not even the same family of bag. My husband called it "striking," because of the unique silhouette (and probably because of the color).As is usual for a Coach bag, the quality can't be matched. It's made of a smooth glove tanned leather outside, with with a microfiber lining inside. The handles are long enough to wear over the shoulder; the bag can also be hand carried or worn over the lower arm.The inside only features one slip pocket, but I'm surprisingly ok with that. I find that the shallow, structured east-west style keeps my belongings from rolling around and getting lost like they might in a larger, slouchier bag. It holds everything I need for my work day or going out: my phones (personal and work when required), my Bandit card case, a small basic kindle, tissue packet, and makeup. It will also accommodate hand warmers and gloves when necessary. I've used this as my every day bag to wear to work, and as a "going out" bag to various events. It's big enough to hold what I need, but not so large that it becomes cumbersome at an event venue.But the main thing I love is how many ways I can wear it. I have a ton of Coach bag charms and chains and I have used them to style this bag differently almost every day. I've had a lot of fun changing the charms and chains and etc. on it to create different looks.I've been a Coach girl for a very long time and definitely recommend them to anyone looking for timeless, quality handbags that will last. And I especially recommend this style for it's versatility and striking look!

I wanted the empire 34 for so long but I waited since I wasnt sure how practical it would be for my lifestyle. But I am so glad i ended up buying it.I usually carry quite a lot, I usually gravitate towards larger satchel bags or larger hobo-style bags to accomdate how much i carry. I have a coach empire 21 (the smallest bag in the empire line) that I will use on days when I need to carry less, so i figured i could make the 34 work for me as well.Mild cons-Size-I find the empire 34 carrys only *slightly* more than the empire 21. I think this might be due to the fact that the glazed leather is a bit thicker and less "mushy" so it doesnt stretch as much, even with the side gussets unbuckled. My empire 21 in the natural grain leather is usually stretched quite a bit when I use it, which allows me to fit more things. Perhaps an empire 34 in the natural grain leather might have a bit more give and stretch. Overall, the size should be decent enough for an everyday bag for most people. I just have to be a bit strategic when I use it since i carry so much.Ease of wear and straps-Many other reviews said it was comfortable on the arm as a shoulder bag, but I find it is a bit awkward. I have a coach brooklyn 28 and a coach chealsea shoulder bag 30 and both of those are slightly more comfortable as a shoulder bag since they are slouchier. This bag is very structured, so it looks so beautiful and classy against the body, but is a bit awkward in function and feels like the straps might slip off due to the rigidity of the bag and its structured straps. The strap over time will also warp with a lot of use. This is almost guaranteed since wearing this on the shoulder will put pressure on the straps, causing one to lean inward overtime. It can be fixed by using foam handle shapers during storage, or hanging it on a doorknob or specialized purse hangers. But it will be pretty much unavoidable with these rigid style straps. If you are only going to wear it on the crook of the arm, it is less likely this will happen.Pros-Appearance- this bag is so so beautiful. It makes all the mild cons worth it. The glazed leather is not super shiney and it does not look cheap. It is a light, buttery sheen that just makes it look like well-moisturized leather. The east-west style is so classy and timeless. This bag is just an eye-catching. The honeybrown in glazed leather was moved to outlet status by coach and completely sold out in 5 minutes. It has since been discontinued which is why it is so marked down. So for collectors like myself, its a good investment. Pretty soon, this color and finish will only be available on second hand markets. And many of those were bought by resellers during the 5 minutes it was available on the outlet for $180 and then sold at a high markup as a "NWT" item.Versatility- it is a lovely bag that can be dressed up or down depending on the outfit. This bag would look lovely as a casual day bag, but classy and elevated enough to transition to an evening bag/going-out-bag as well. However, it would still probably be too casual for formal events like weddings.Durability- some reviews on coach's website warn that the glazed leather is prone to scratching and scuffs, particularly in lighter leather shades. Based on how soft and supple this leather feels, i can see that could be an issue. As long as every 3-6 months the bag is conditioned with water-based leather lotion (options that are safe for glazed leather), that should reduce the risk and reduce any appearance of scratches and scuffs the bag might acquire overtime. The standard natural grain leather by coach is also prone to scratches since its so soft.

I just received this bag, and I absolutely love it! The quality exceeded my expectations, and it looks even better in person than it does in the photos. It arrived carefully packaged and protected, which I really appreciated. The leather feels smooth and well made, the shape is beautiful, and the bag has a timeless, elegant look that can easily be dressed up or down. I’m already excited to start using it. This is a beautiful gorgeous bag. The color is so beautiful and changes depending on the lighting. This bag can be dressed up or down and has so much personality. The quality of the leather is the best given that it is genuine full grain leather. It fits all your needs and more, and it should last you a lifetime.

I bought this bag when the color was on sale and I am so glad that I did. The lighter color is perfect for spring and summer. The quality of Coach leather is well-known and this is another timeless design. The drop of the strap is not too short and not too long - and the straps are structured enough that they continue standing on their own. The feet on the bottom of the bag protect the bottom from scratches and scuffs.

This bag is perfection! Perfect size, shape, and quality. It is for sure pricey, but I am so glad i went ahead and splurged. I love this bag. The suede is soft and such a ruch brown. The handles are perfect and make it comfy to carry by hand or on shoulder. It is spacious without being huge or too small... its just right.

VERY DISAPPOINTEDPacked horribly. Basically thrown in an Amazon box. Leather marred. Doesn't even smell like leather, must have sat on a shelf for a very long time. Leather is dried out. Absolutely returning it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. It's a shame too because the size, shape and color were nice. But I paid way too much for crappy quality.

Una bolsa hermosa, para mi tiene un tamaño perfecto, viene bien empacada, totalmente original con todos los sellos.Al principio este color, no me convencía, porque parecía viejo, pero en persona le da un toque original, distinto a otras bolsas, un toque único. No me arrepiento de haber escogido este color en vez, del de Gamuza.
