Zebra PenZensations Brush Pen, Double Ended, Medium and Fine Brush Tip, Black Water-Resistant Ink, 1-Pack

I got this pen to replace a calligraphy brush pen I used to use for inking. This pen responds well to different pressure, but I am disappointed that I can't get as fine a line with this pen as with my old one even when using the fine tip end and light pressure. The ink in this pen doesn't feather or bleed on the Canson Mixed Media or Canson Marker pads I've used it on. So I'll continue using it, but I'll probably test out different brush pens before purchasing this one again. I like only using one pen to achieve different line thicknesses so that's why brush pens appeal to me. But if you don't mind using this pen in conjunction with fineliners, you'll be fine.

This pen is a little tricky to get used to, but it writes beautifully and I love it. I’ve been practing hiragana and katakana as I learn them with this pen and the few times I’ve ventured to practice kanji, it was very forgiving for my inexperienced hands. Once I get the hang of using this thing to write, I’m sure I’ll use it all the time, but for now it’s only for practicing.

This and my Manga-ka Flexible pen are my two favorite pens. They are similar but different. The Zebra has a nice satisfying deep black line and seems waterproof and Copic-proof. Feels good with inking with it.

Exactly what I was looking for: a pen for creating varying line weights while also being stiff enough to not wobble all over the page.

The writing was ok, not great. The worst thing is that since I opened it there were skips in the writing with the larger end and now it is just drying out. For $8 I would have thought it would last longer than 2 weeks.

Niece loved it. She says it glides on the paper like an iceskater!

I can't give half a star but 3 and a half would be more accurate a score for this product. I might have given this a higher rating if it hadn't arrived at the same time as a Zebra Fude brush pen of the FD type. This pen just doesn't compare, I am afraid.The "thick" end of this one is quite small, not quite fine while the "fine" end is quite fine but not really in fineliner territory.The ink seems decent enough but I notice that the barrel is considerably shorter than on most pens so I am not sure how much ink it contains. It might be a little thicker too so maybe I am overly critical there.For sketch work it is alright but considering the price, I think a Fude of most brands, fineliners etc. would all be better or at least as good.I know some swear by this pen. I can't see why. It's not awful but it isn't going to blow your mind either.
