Oxford advanced Learner's Dictionary

I have been using the the 7th edition for about 8 years now. It's always a pleasure using OALD. When I upgraded my notebook to Windows 7 from XP the Software of the dictionary while ran smoothly on Windows 7 did not produce any sound whenever I tried to listen to the pronunciation of the words. I, therefore, ordered the 9th edition. The content between the 7th & 9th editions are almost same except that the printing on the latest edition is more clear and despite having more pages the 9th edition is thinner than the 7th one. (it's only about 4 days since I received the latest version, may be I would be able to notice the improvement in a while) What I liked most is the huge improvement done at the software end.

It's worth buying, especially for people who will be giving the IIFT examination. The pages are thin as you can read in other reviews but if you manage it properly the pages won't tear. Also, for some reason I don't think it's original oxford imported book. The book was published in India that's why paper quality is garbage so don't blame oxford. The imported book is alot costlier if you want good paper quality but I don't think having original is necessary. I got it for Rs. 785. I chose hardcover that's why they took 160rs more (included in price). Good luck sir.

Definitely Good Dictionary, But i don't know why the paper Quality of the dictionary is not good and latter's from other side of paper also Visible and it totally mixed-up

Absolutely indispensable to a non-native speaker of English. I got it in a perfect condition. The only thing is that the paper is so thin and rather transparent. But again, the DVD is great and the price is acceptable.

I have got this book with some book marks. The quality is good. This dictionary is much easier and simpler than other editions. It helps to increase vocabulary by remembering the words with simple meaning.

Very nice delivery. Received it within 4 days. Received in a very good condition. The dictionary is all-inclusive. Best dictionary for students and teachers as well.

Paper quality is not as per expectation and binding is also very much poor.

I collect dictionaries and this one is probably the most interesting. I find the idea that certain words are more valuable in learning advanced English makes so much sense. I have just never given it any thought until now.
