Basic pedometer that does it's job
Got this pedometer for my Mom. It comes with a slip on clip which can be attached to a waist belt or something similar. The device is a basic pedometer which allows you to configure your weight, stride length, height and clock. It's simple to configure via mode and set buttons. It displays the time on standby and stores results for calories burned, steps taken, kms covered. The memory option stores data for 7 days. It also has an option to record aerobic steps but i am not sure what this really is. The device uses a battery similar to the one used in watches and we are provided a screw driver to open the back panel in case the battery needs a change. As said its a basic pedometer so any number of continuous movements are recorded as steps. So you could just move your hand holding the device and it will be recorded as steps.

Very useful ...
Excellent product...Good Accuracy. Using it effectively to monitor , evaluate and plan the physical activity in a day, in a week. It encourages to move from your seat, take a walk in the office to beat previous days count. Now a days, many smart phones come with this option (eg.Nokia Lumia 630 etc..), comparing to cost, size & weight, prefer this one because you can carry it every where in you pocket or with clip on easily in your dress any where and work out without feeling it.

Waste of money!
Bad cailbration results. Not accurate! Bought to keep it in trouser pocket all the time just to overcome wearing smartwatch all the time. But it miserably fails in its purpose. I feel that I wasted 2.5k on this item.

A Very Handy & User Friendly Pedometer
This is the 2nd Omron HJ-321 pedometer that I've ordered on Amazon..since I happened to misplace the 1st one that I bought...my carelessness apart, I think the fact that I've gone for the same one again shows how utilitarian and cost-effective this product is...It may not have many of the more advanced analytics of a FitBit product..but it is essentially a pretty accurate step-counter which is extremely simple to use and gives you a good idea of the number of steps you've taken and calories that you've burned in the process, which is exactly what I'm looking for..!!! For those who just need some basic info on their daily step count n calories burned, this is the product for you...

I had one of the earlier versions purchased in Japan ...
I had one of the earlier versions purchased in Japan, little bigger. This one is slimmer and a bit difficult tom read without my glasses. I am 70 years youngl.

Small display with no backlight and very outdated product .
The media could not be loaded. This pedometer from Omron is working fine , it is very outdated , very small in size , display is also dull and small , there is no backlight , you need some kind of light for you to see the reading , and I received a product so old which was imported in December 2017 , I feel people should go for good quality watch with pedometer and other health related applications . ## I am writing this review after using this product for 5 months , after using 5 Months it stopped, I changed the battery and it started working again, but it stopped again after 3-4 days, I don't know if there is any service center in Mumbai or not, the product has a one year warranty , help with service center location .

Just the job
Simple little bit of kit, just sits unobtrusively in your pocket and counts your steps. Ideal if you just want to ensure you hit your 10,000 per day without all the bells and whistles. Battery lasted more than 6 months, cheap and easy to replace but you'll need a VERY small screwdriver to open its compartment. About a year old now, used every day but still looks good and working fine so pretty robust. Counting your steps gives you that extra incentive to go out and reach that total each day, so I recommend it.

Great Buy!
I use this all the time and love it! I've had it for almost a year now and it works as good as the day I bought it. I did have to change the battery once, it was easy to change. It started to miscount my steps just before the battery died but that was after almost a year of nearly constant use and once the new battery was in it was perfectly fine again. For the price of this one, it does a lot. It counts both your steps and your aerobic steps seperately (aerobic steps are after 10minutes of walking at a decent pace.. not super fast but not stopping/dawdling... just your average walk will give it to you). It also counts calories burned and distance walked, as well as displays the time it is. It's very small/slim and fits easily into a pocket. It also comes with a detachable belt clip that is simple to use and works great but I usually use it without it. I love the sleek design of it. It has a 7 day memory so you can compare what you've done for 7 days. It does NOT count pulse/sleep stats like some of the more expensive models but for the price it is well worth it. The display is very clear and easy to read as well. I just love it!Update: I have twice accidentally put this through the washing machine... oops. I don't recommend it but even after that this thing still works perfectly! Wow!

It's cheap. Just do it.
Recommended by Dr. Roizen as one of the pedometers for doing 10,000 steps a day, no excuses. Very simple to use. Battery lasts and lasts. Gives you all the helpful information you need without all the complexity of a modern health app. I use it all the time since I bought it and have yet to put in one of the eight new batteries I bought. I count steps every now and then and it is accurate for me.Yes, I have the step measuring app on my iPhone, but I don't have my iPhone on my person too many times, and in many of the activities I do, the iPhone is a bit too bulky or the risk of breakage too great, so I have it nearby. This pedometer is small enough to fit in any of my pockets and is oh so innocuous and can easily be ignored until you want to check up on how you are doing. It is light, but heavy enough, smooth enough and compact enough not to get lost or feel unwieldy in a pocket. Packs up real nice next to credit cards or folded bills. What I didn't want is a gadget to rule my life. My body doesn't care what I record. What I understand is that the more steps people did, up to 10,000 a day over a wide range of people, some moving slow, some fast, some all at once, some spread throughout the day, the healthier they were over time. After 10,000 steps it didn't seem to matter much for most of us, but up to 10,000 there were serious, healthy improvements. What this device does is take the guesswork out of knowing what is actually being done. This is the baseline that we all must do to stay healthy, and we need to do it every day. Dr. Roizen gives substitutions for cycling, running, swimming and other exercises, but if you are caring for kids, time might be an issue, and this might help to get in what we need to do every day, and help others know if we are not that it is hurting us.What I find is that some days I can easily do 10,000 steps, but other days I fail unless I stop making excuses for myself and put my mind to arranging my life to get this in, every day, no excuses. For example, I can walk back and forth in a space just big enough to pace say 10 feet back and forth while I am waiting for something else to happen (a lot of my life it turns out) and, it turns out, I can do thousands of steps that way, changing largely wasted and unscripted time into improving my health and lifespan. All for the small price of this small gadget. When Dr. Northrup talked about improving our health on stage, I noticed she was pacing back and forth across the stage. I wondered what she was doing. My guess now is that she had a pedometer such as this one and was modeling using pacing while presenting to get her steps in.For me, the most problematic time is driving. I often end up driving a lot, and it is stressful and extremely dangerous and requires full attention, no distractions, and leaves me mentally exhausted when I have time in between driving, and have nothing motivating me to get my exercise in. What I have found is that this little gadget is a big help to my motivation, particularly because even a few minutes need not be wasted, and often that turns into a lot of time that is not wasted, and I end up getting my steps in.Thanks for the recommendation Dr. Roisen, and thanks Dr. Northrup for modelling how even on your type of schedule we can get our steps in.

A few kilometers to go...
Fulfills my needs with one exception, maybe two..First off is the size of the lettering within the display, it is so small that I need a reading glasses to discern what the figures are that I'm actually looking at. I made up a card that sits in my pocket with legible script that I carry and mode down from the clock which I can read so I know what I'm reading. There is sufficient room on the display to enlarge the type. I suggest going to a 24 hour time vs the 12 as the unit switched over at lunch time on me so it kinda screwed up my days totals. With the 24 hour clock that would be impossible. Setting the stride etc. to get started is fairly straightforward, kudo's! I'm still not yet sold on the accuracy. I've basically walked in a square with the first three sides of the square coming up approximately the same and the fourth was substantially out..In other reviews a few users shared the same view, yet most have been comparisons using another unit which would increase or decrease dependant on the distance walked and the stride length of each. A square is a square so the comparison is with the unit. I carry a 35-40 pound backpack on all my daily hikes ( approx 10k a day in winter) so I increased my weight on the unit hoping that that might make up for those extra calories obviously burnt, I don't know how to factor backpacking in the snow as of yet however I know it burns much more energy than a normal walk which leads me to believe that the kcals are also discretionary. All in all it is a simple guide and it can be used very successfully to moniter your daily hikes and set goals, you will know if you've gone either a shorter or longer distance that's for sure!
