These bags come with small wheels inset into the case that only roll in one direction. To pull the case, you tip it slightly, hold on, and walk in the direction you want the case to go. It is not like the kind of bag that stands upright and the wheels spin in every direction. When I read reviews, it seemed that the bags with big spinny wheels biggest problem was wheels getting bent and coming off. The Pelican case wheels are sturdy -- I've dragged them over curbs, potholes, gravel, packed soil, and sand and the case is still going strong. In my opinion, Pelican cases are what you want to survive the hard knocks and protect your contents. They're not decorator cases by any means. And that's OK for me. Best of luck!
