Great game, but poor quality
I waited to write a review until I was able to play the game because when it arrived several of the pips in the dice were not filled. (Ex. 5 of 6 pips were filled on the side of the die that shown 6). There were about 10 dice in that condition. I filled them myself since it wouldn't affect the game play. Upon my first game, there were white paint shavings all over my table from all players. We realized it was from the character dice. The paint on the dice art was coming off when rolled. I deducted three stars for quality alone.. The cards and other game parts were not flawed as far as I can tell. None of these quality issues affect game play now, but as I continue to play and the paint chips off of my dice, I will eventually have to repaint them like I did the missing pips.GAMEPLAY (Cooperative)Its Pandemic with dice! Which, in my opinion, is great! I think it adds a different kind of randomness to the game making it unpredictable fun. Different colored dice represent the diseases (red, blue, black, and yellow). Each player will represent a character with a unique special ability to help aid the team to victory. Players roll character dice to determine possible actions (move, treat, sample, or roll again). Players then resolve dice to take actions. A biohazard symbol means that dice cannot be rerolled, and the biohazard penalty increases (you infect by rolling more dice at the end of your turn). Once players cure all four diseases, they win. There are several opportunities to lose. There is one expansion called Experimental Meds that adds more characters, an extra disease, and some other random event dice.If you like the Pandemic board game and want to add something different, this feels like an entirely different game and will be a great addition to your game collection. I'm not sure if this game is a fake, or if Z-Man did a poor job. The expansion had different cards and dice and seemed to be a higher quality than the original. I'd like to know how to determine the seller so I can give them a review. If customer service is important, they might reach out to help resolve it.

Better than original Pandemic
I much prefer this one over the base Pandemic. Movement around the "board" is smoother and feels less fiddly. The base game is so spread out it's difficult to play with only 2-3 players because you can never get where you need to be fast enough. With this one, movement is quick whether you're using ship or plane - you will never be more than a couple of dice away from anywhere. Simply put, this version plays well with any number of people, including solitaire play with 1 person controlling 2 characters.I also love the wide variability in complexity. This one scales in difficulty depending on where you start out on the infection rate and outbreak tracks. There's still some stress involved on the easier settings, but they're generally easy to beat. Perfect when playing with kids or new/light gamers. Once you master the intro/easy levels you can challenge yourself - it can become increasingly difficult to beat on harder settings.Overall, everything pulls together really well in this version of the game. The theme still comes across strong - maybe even better. The dice don't feel any more luck-based than the cards did. Actually, I sometimes feel like I have more control and am less at the mercy of luck. Small footprint makes this easy to take to work or when traveling. It's easier to teach to new players and seems to be easier for them to get into playing. All in all, I have nothing to complain about and highly recommend this to anyone interested in the Pandemic series.

Great Board Game for Pandemic Enthusiasts!
This is a great twist on the original Pandemic game that introduces my favorite tool for randomness: dice! We have a ton of fun playing, and it's a staple in my sister's collection now. I got it for her birthday because we love Pandemic, and she's in Medical School, so it seemed like a very appropriate gift.I absolutely love this game, and I think it's a staple for any coop lover. However, there are two downsides to the game that I like to warn people about:1) It's VERY luck driven. Unlike the original Pandemic where you cure diseases by playing card sets, you have to collect dice and then roll them to hit a certain threshold. We've had games where we weren't able to roll successful saves against crazy odds, including one time where we rolled 13 or 14 1s out of 18 total dice to lose the game. If a few really bad rolls making you lose the occasional game will drive you crazy, this is not the game for you.2) I find the expansion basically mandatory, so I'd recommend getting it too if you choose to buy this one. The mutant dice are a very fun twist, and it adds my personal favorite roles to play in the game.Highly recommended, as long as you understand that this is a dice game with a ton of randomness, and sometimes there isn't anything you can do about it!

Fun to play alone!
So, with the Covid-19 crisis, if one lives alone, what to do for entertainment? This is a fun game to play alone because it is a cooperative game, people (up to five) work together to prevent a pandemic that could be caused by four virus's. I haven't won once playing with two players (me and myself), but did win playing with three players (me, myself and I). And, maybe this is a statement about the real Covid-19. We will prevail, but it is going to take alot of players to squash the real virus.I like this game, and play it almost every night during the "Great Quarentine"
