Simple and effective - Works better on oranges and smaller citrus than on grapefruit.
I'm editing my previous review to update. We have continued to like the Orange Peelers and I recently bought some more at a discount in return for posting an honest and unbiased review. My first review was done on a purchase made at the regular price. These are the same product from the same maker as before and there seems to be no change in quality since then. With this purchase, however, I did discover that the small sharp plastic blade can pierce your finger or thumb if you are too careless, which I had not experienced with them before. However, it was my own fault for rushing and trying to multitask this time. --- I often eat citrus fruit and, when my grandchildren come for their frequent visits, it's an ongoing thing with the little kids attempting to open their own fruit with a sharp knife if I don't watch them like a hawk. I didn't even know that a safe simple solution existed, until a friend mentioned this product. I wasn't even sure what to expect, but it's very inexpensive so I thought I would try it. It arrived today, very simply packaged with just the 4 small plastic pieces loose in a small padded envelope. There were no directions, which I found a bit odd, but I figured I'm smart enough to figure out how to use them. At first, I thought maybe I was supposed to push the curved plastic into the orange skin, like a knife blade. But, as I was trying to do that, I noticed a small sharp protrusion on the inner curve of the plastic, adjacent to the finger ring part. Suddenly, I had an "ah ha" moment, and realized that the small sharp plastic protrusion was the blade. It's intended to cut just the skin of the citrus, so you can peel it without damaging the fruit underneath and without endangering your fingers. The curved plastic keeps it from penetrating too far. So, I slipped it on my finger and started spinning the fruit in my opposite hand as I pressed the curved plastic piece against the fruit. It worked amazingly fast and within just a few seconds I had the orange peeled and ready to be sectioned without any damage to the fruit underneath. It was very neat and without dripping juice. This is simple enough for a small child to do without difficulty or danger. My grandchildren like them a lot. I plan to order some more to send home with my daughter in the very near future. (I have since then done that with this discount for honest review purchase.) I don't know how this holds up over time, but it's working very well right now. (They have continued to last just fine.) The cost is very low, so buying more if they wear out would not be a problem.

Love these little things!
So nice to get 4 of these - they're super handy and keep your fingers clean while making your citrus super easy to peel! I gave the extras away to people I REALLY like ๐ I usually put this little ring on the upper half of my dominant hand, either index or middle finger, pointy side on the palm side of my hand. Then I push the the little poker / spike right next to the stem hole, and slide it around full circle, making a 'prime meridian', turn it 45ยฐ, then do it again. It digs in just deep enough without puncturing the fruit and squirting juice everywhere. Instead, you get four perfectly peeled quadrants of rind and a perfectly intact orange/tangerine/ grapefruit without an excess of bitter, spongy pith. Makes eating healthfully so much nicer!

4 round citrus peelers by Cheft Craft
These citrus peelers by Chef Craft are the best citrus peelers I have found. I have a grove of various citrus trees at my home. The most difficult citrus to peel are Arizona Sweet Oranges. These peelers are the only peelers that will peel these oranges. They will also peel Mandarins which are also difficult to peel. The thin skinned varieties of citrus are the most difficult to peel and these peelers do a wonderful job.

Gets the job done
Nice and sharp but a bit flimsy. They do the job though.

Perfect for classroom
I am a teacher. We have "breakfast in the classroom" every day and the fruit is more often than not, oranges. My kids can't peel them, it drives me nuts! I keep a couple of these on hand in my classroom (in case I lose one) and my kids just bring me their orange, I cut two slits in the peel, and everyone can now peel their oranges with ease :) Life saver!

Safety concern
The citrus fruit peeler I purchased was inexpensive, but unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. After only using it seven times, it broke. The quality of the peeler was flimsy and not very durable. While it was easy to use and did a good job peeling the fruit, the fact that it broke so quickly made it a poor investment. To make matters worse, a tiny plastic piece broke off into my orange during one use and ended up scraping my gum and upper lip, causing discomfort and some bleeding. This was a major safety concern. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable and safe fruit peeler. It might be tempting to opt for a cheaper option, but in this case, it ended up being a waste of money and even posed a risk to my health.

Utterly stupid packaging
OrganOil is a great product, but whoever shipped this to me deserves to be fired. Placing a 1 ltr can in a brown envelope with no padding and no protection ensured that it arrived leaking and dented.
