It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.

The best non professional backpack for amateurs
I'm an amateur photographer, I just carry my camera and one lens so I was not looking for a pretty complex pro camera backpack, it's really difficult to take your gear on a day hike so I was looking something like this backpack:•What I like: enought space for one camera (NikonD7200) and two lens, the acces is great you don't even need to put your backpack in the ground, water repellent, and with space for more gear (head lamp, extra cellphone battery, extra camera battery, small first aid kit, a compass, gloves, beanie and some snacks, stylish and with rain cover.•What I don't like: the water bottle space is pretty slim, so if you want to take your 1 liter camel bag bottle with you is not going to be possible, they forgot to put a wide mouth water bottle bag.If you ask me this is a must if you hike and occasionally take pictures, you know in case you find really great landscapes during your day.

Probably good quality, but not enough space for NON-camera stuff
I only have a DSLR with 2 lenses. The camera padding section is massive (meant for people with a lot more camera stuff). It is nice that you could remove the camera padding section or remove the top blue tiny section for electronics, etc, but there's not enough space to store much else. No room for a water bottle or clothes or laptop or anything really except just some chargers and cords.I haven't used it and am now attempting to resell it (thus I don't know about the quality but Thule is a good brand).

Very good, slightly non-standard camera pack
I've found this works better for a single SLR in the top compartment, with the bigger bottom compartment used for normal stuff.Good build quality, good materialsSlight downsides:Waistbelt is useless unless you're mountain biking. It carries no weight. The external zip pockets are non expandable so have very limited capacityThat's really about it as far as I'm concerned. I don't think there are any major durability or design issues with packs (and I have owned a lot of very high end packs). This pack is built to better standards than the vast majority of 'camera' packs.

The Perfect Compact Bag!
This bag is PERFECT! Very compact and sturdy! The stitching all around is very strong and weather sealed. Doesn't seem that their was a feature that they overlooked! I am actually able to put my 13 inch macbook pro in the main compartment if i slide it behind the camera insert. It's a snug fit but nice if you need to bring your laptop along for a shoot! This is now my go-to camera backpack and I am sure I will get many years out of it!

You CAN fit a laptop!
Just got this backpack today. I haven't had a chance to use it, but I did want to say that you CAN fit a laptop inside! The top padded compartment can be removed, which means you can slip a laptop into the back and it will slide in behind the camera compartment. My X1 Carbon (about the size of a 13" macbok air) slides right in.Since you can remove the top compartment and the camera compartment, this also means you can transform the pack into a regular backpack with one giant interior compartment.

Perfect day-use backpack!
This has quickly become my favorite daily pack. I am amazed at how much I can cram into it. It easily fits my Canon 70D with and additional lens and plenty of accessories. Extra battery, charger, cables, filters, etc. I also store a rolled up lightweight down vest, a few snacks, water bottle, and various items in the top compartment. The whole bag is really sturdy and well built. It's stiffness nearly feels like a hardcase. It stands up solidly on its own when set down. The bag feels and looks like a very detailed, quality piece of luggage. And, it is. I use it while riding my motorcycle and it is very comfortable. The shoulder straps are well padded and wide enough. The chest strap holds it securely. I like the option of tucking away the waist belts when on the motorcycle and then easily being able to pull them out for hiking. The included weather cover is a very nice touch and hides away easily. On occasion that you are not bringing along your camera, the upper and lower inserts can be removed and it becomes just a nice backpack. I highly recommend this pack if you like to carry your camera around wherever you go and need just enough room for a minimal outing. It is well worth the money, and better quality than most every other pack I have ever owned.

Buy it.
Love the design, size and quality. The top Velcro strap was to long to cinch my tripod down. I added a piece of sticky backed Velcro onto the strap and now it's good to go.
