Mister Rogers: It's You I Like

Mister Rogers IS a Legend!
Like many I grew up with Mister Rogers started watching in 1978 when I was three. The impact of this wonderful and wholesome show really helped me through tough times growing up. So many moments in this documentary brought tears of joy simply because Mister Rogers was so genuine. The music episodes were my favorites as a child, and I believe those were partly the reasons why I became a composer, and play bass. I remember the drum lessons "para-diddle" and "it's-a-rat-a-ma-q," and loved going to Joe Negri's music shop. Loved the week long episodes of the School being built in the town next to the Neighborhood. I adored Daniel Stripped Tiger, he was my favorite and still is. I even remember the song "Anna, Prince and Daniel" that they'd sing in the school.Being a bit of a nerd, I loved any episodes when Mister Roger's played with the traffic light. My obsession to have that traffic light by the fish tank ended up getting me into the hobby of collecting them. as an adultMister Rogers was one of a kind. Special in many ways, and never ever talked down to us kids. I remember Mister Rogers being on The Arsenio Hall Show, and he sang for the viewing audience. Those moments are frozen in time, and Mister Rogers is an icon to millions of kids and parents. When Mister Rogers died, I cried a lot. Losing such an amazing and inspirational person was heartbreaking. Every year around his birthday, Twitch runs a week long marathon of the show. I think they have access to about 600 of the 900 episodes. To see many of them that I watched as a kid warms my heart. When I lucky enough to have my own kids, I will make sure they see Mister Rogers Neighborhood.Oh and I had no idea that Michael Keaton worked on the show. That's amazing!

All adults and children should watch this example of kindness and authentic compassion
I grew up in a very abusive home and watched Mr Rogers often as an escape. I remember crying when he sang "It's you I like, just the way you are". I remember thinking there was no way this man was real. I found it hard to believe a person was that kind.. it was only as an adult I realize he was real, he really was the kind soul on TV. One of my colleagues was his personal physician in Pennsylvania and he told me that Mr Rogers was exactly as was on TV. I recently saw Tom Hanks speak of his role and said his material is only for 4 year olds, I strongly disagree. Seeing his work reminds me of how important it is to treat each and every person with kindness and the impact we have on one another. He also speaks of the importance of forgiveness. He was an Earth angel. ❤️

a must watch for all
Fred Rogers was one of the best exponents of the command to "love Thy Neighbor". And one soon discovers that while done as a show for children, it applies just as much to adults. Love, appreciation, wonder and gratitude are always in play and one does see and come to appreciate how wonderful ,creative and miraculous life is. This particular DVD was put together as a documentary and tribute to him--and it is well done--and in so being , points the way to the series that should be viewed best by all as a "family project" . In short, get it and view it with your kids and be blessed.

Fantastic
I watched every Mister Rogers show as a child of the 80's. This was an incredible depiction of my childhood hero. He was a bright shining light in the dark world that I had no control over. I am a musician to this day partly because of Mr. Rogers. He showed me what love was supposed to look like and how to show my son when I didn't have a great example. I sing the songs he wrote and I memorized them for my son. There will never be another Fred Rogers. He was an angel sent from Heaven for so many of us. I hope to meet him on the other side one day. Wonderful documentary. Absolutely recommend.

Mr. Rogers was a beautiful soul
Mr. Rogers left a beautiful legacy of love, acceptance, kindness, and wholesomeness. He's the best thing that ever happened to PBS and children of all ages. Mr. Rogers made me feel at home whenever I watched his show. It was as if he was talking directly to me. Coming from a broken family. I felt that Mr. Rogers truly cared about others, especially children. Hopefully though documentaries like this, younger generations will be exposed to the goodness of this man.
