Much better tonally than even bone or ivory, but the main thing is the vastly improved tuning stability, due to the slippiness, meaning that the tension at the headstock is the same as on the fingerboard during tune-up, which means a much more stable guitar, be is classical, acoustic or electric. 25 years experience luthier here. No substitutes. This is the best, and it's a vitally important part, nuts and saddles.

I love this nut. Black nuts match my guitar. My last nut busted so I had to get a new one, as I was shopping for nuts I came across the Black tusq self lubricating nuts and decided to give it a whack. This nut fit perfectly onto my neck after a little handwork and shaping. Now my guitar has incredible sustain and stamina, ive never had this good of a nut before. This nut has balls.

Nice touch to my Taylor 414ce. I replaced the saddle and bridge pins with bone and the factory Tusq nut with this one. The sustain is now incredible. I don't understand why expensive line of guitar like Taylor, Martin and others do not install the best from the factory. We are talking $50 for all 3 parts on guitars that cost over $2000. My guitar sounds better than any guitar in the store know. Anyway, this is a great upgrade and I highly recommend it.

Excellent nut! Fits my Dean Exotica acoustic perfectly! I didn't have to sand or slot it perfect fit right out of the box,very impressed!Also the tone is just a little sweeter well worth the money .The seller was also excellent!
