Being crystals this instant coffee dissolves very well. For my taste buds I enjoy this coffee. Dark roast is not bitter but a good medium strong coffee. I also have tried the Medium Roast and I like very much. I mix the Strong with the Medium. Thick glass container with a lid of rubber/plastic that fits snuggly into the jar.

PROS:I LOVE this instant coffee!The glass jar container is reusable 4 anything!The lid keeps the freshness inside & ants outside!CONS:The price is a bit steep; but, worth it so far. (If the price increases, we'll have 2 find something else less expensive; but, 4 now, it's my guilty pleasure.It does make my skin have an odor; but, it's so delish--it's worth it.

Absolutely love it! I never in my life thought I'd drink instant coffee. We have a fancy machine that grounds our beans seconds before brewing them as well as a keurig on my counter. We used them both daily. For some unknown reason, my husband decided to purchase a jar of this Douwe Egberts pure gold and we fell in love. We've since purchased more and the decaf as well, which is just as good. I was very hesitant at first (I remember my Grandpa and his Sanka from years ago). My husband insisted I try it and I honestly can't believe what a good cup of coffee this is. It took a little bit of experimenting on his part to come up with the correct amount of grounds (we use 1 tablespoon for 10 oz water) but now that we have it down, neither of us can get enough of it. I'm so glad we tried it because now we're hooked.

I absolutely love Douwe Egberts coffee made from their specialty brewers that a few select restaurants have. The flavor is the best ever. This instant coffee is the closest thing to that. The only downside is that the product is sometimes hard to find and can be pricey. Also, sometimes it has to come from overseas so shipping can take several weeks. However, in my opinion, the coffee is well worth the wait and cost.

I took a trip to South Africa and the resort I stayed at served this instant coffee. It was very good. I purchased this thinking it would be the same but it isn't. The label is the same but the content and taste is not.

My wife is a Maccona fanatic, having her sisters from Australia bring Maccona whenever they visit us in the US. DE owns Maccona so I'd hoped this would taste like Maccona. It doesn't have that slight Maccona chocolate taste (to my taste anyway). It's not quite as bad as Nescafe or Taster's Choice, but it's not Maccona. Just buy Maccona if you want Maccona. Most of my coffee is French Press varieties on sale at Costco.

I like most coffee drinkers love the flavor of coffee. If you are looking for a great instant, this is it, Smooth with good flavor. I prefer fresh brewed however with this instant I don't miss it and it does not wire me out. Have a happy!
