It did meet my expectations but the price is too high for the little coverage this gives.

Grass never sprouted
As usual from Amazon, delivery was timely. We cut the mat to fit the area that needed to be covered. We watered and did everything that we were supposed to do, and the grass seed never sprouted. The mat is still down and covering the bare dirt, but there is no grass.

VERY LOUSY PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT WORK
Do not purchase this item, I think the top cover for the seeds is too thick, they do not germinate, You will waste your money. Amazon needs to take this item off their selling brochure. I had it in place foe over a month. I seeded it under it with Canadian seed grass they were growing from under the paper of these seeds. I also think there were not enough seed in place. Sorry for the bad review. But a lousy product is a lousy product that does not function as claimed. Thank you but I will never and will tell friends and family to avoid this Product. See you T the dump, this is where I sent it after ripping it out of my ground.

Five Star for my altered use
First of all, I must say that I used this product more as a soil blanket than to actually germinate grass seed. For this use, I give it five stars. I had to sod a few bare spots in my yard (under the portable deck) when we moved. I had planned to buy sod, but OMG! you cannot buy sod in Central Texas in July/August. OH! So I needed a guaranteed way to grow grass and do so quickly. I slightly worked up the top of the VERY parched sun-baked soil, tossed out ALOT of grass seed I had purchased at Lowes, lightly covered with yucky garden dirt and then covered with this blanket. I secured the rows of blanket with small rocks (its the Hill Country - we have rocks like you can't believe!), and watered. My goal in using this product was to prevent evaporation and to try to keep the soil moist. Well, it worked! I started on a Friday morning and by the next Tuesday, I had grass!! It appears to be the grass from the seed primarily and maybe some from the blanket. As I write this (Wednesday), my little grass is about an inch tall. I have faithfully watered and watered and watered - a must here in drought conditions. If you have drier than dry soil, and no rain at all for months on end, you must keep the blanket moist. Initially, I watered several times per day, three and four times, and once always at night (after the sun goes down). I would suggest a timer to get you through the first couple of watering days. Also, I found that a hand sprayer (attaches to your hose), works well depending on the size of area you are putting into seed (requires less water use, and is more efficient). I should also mention that the areas I am growing this grass in are full sun and flat surfaced. Breezy conditions will move or flip over the blanket, so you must anchor somehow. Good luck with your sod replacement!!

TERRIBLE - DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY, Worthless and honestly the grass seed I purchased worked better than this. Whereas the grass seed turned into a full lawn I had a strip of crap due to this worthless purchase. Wish I asked for my money back. Literally my lawn looked like a strip of this with barely anything growing and a beautiful lawn all around it. Uhg.

This Works!
This helped so much with my second attempt of growing grass for my Dear Kit.The grass is still growing in his garden path . It does take lots of watering her in northern Florida, however. It will dry out. The topping does keep the birds and squirrels from eating the seeds. You do have to make sure that the seeds are spread out more evenly before you finally put it in place. The seeds tend to bunch. I do like this, however,.
