BOSS CE-5 Stereo Chorus Ensemble Guitar Pedal (CE-5)

Obviously it's a ,matter of preference but this is my favorite Boss Chorus. It seems to take distortion better than the others and has a good sound in my opinion. Running it clean, with distortion, or with other effects pedals I have yet to get a bad sound out of it. No noise and more adjustable than most of the other Choruses. If you have their AC-3 Acoustic Simulator it pairs really well with that.

I’ve used the CE-5 for many years. When I first bought one, it was a toss up between the CE-2 and the Chorus Ensemble, and after playing using both, my money went to the CE-5. It’s lush, stereo chorus is like no other chorus made, and it literally has a sound of its own. I especially like the ability to shape the EQ, and despite the number of knobs, it’s literally impossible to dial in a bad chorus sound. It’s easy to use, built like a rock like all Boss pedals, and looks perfectly at home on my pedal board which contains not only other Boss pedals, but many other manufacturers pedals as well. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger. You’ll never go back.

As an intermediate guitarist who is right on money, I found this pedal to be a great deal. I bought it so me and my friends could jam to come as you are by nirvana and to get started on my pedal board. A very good pro about this pedal is that it is EXTREMLY durable. Just like any other boss pedal, these things are built like tanks and will take even the most of severe beatings. The effect is very "wet" and echoey. I don't know how to describe it with words. If I could try to use only one it would be the word calm. The effect has four knobs that help you dial in your style perfectly and it is fun to fool around with the controls. This review has been all over the place but I'm just trying to put the positives in the light! I hope this has been helpful

I only have the warm audio and the joyo minis to compare, but this is definitely my favorite chorus pedal.

Every Boss chorus is beautiful in its own way. This one is nice because you can cut the highs or lows to work with your sound. Particularly for using with distortion and overdrive, this baby is tops. However, people hold fast to the psychologically compelling idea knobs ought be at high noon—it would just be crazy to go more than a hair past “medium!”—so they point the filter knobs at high noon and then complain the chorus is "too subtle." Yes, because you have turned off 50% of the chorusing effect. The default position for the filter knobs is at "flat"--or all the the way clockwise. The other cool think about this chorus is it cycles unusually fast when you crank the rate all the way up.

Bought the pedal a month ago and it already broke. Of course I'm a few days past the Amazon return deadline and cannot find how to return it to Boss directly. They conveniently don't seem to have that info on their website so I'm out the full cost with no recourse.

Product is accurately described. Works well for our purposes (gospel music and hymns at a nursing home). Allows a greater variety of guitar sounds when using only an amplified acoustic guitar, chording with with some transitional notes or finger picking. Good value at Amazon's price of $79.00

I love this chorus! Lots of space to go from subtle and extreme. Awesome all around gerat pedal!

Usual Boss build quality and excellent control over sound - works well with acoustic guitar as well as electric. Preferable to the CH1 to my ear.

Ein sehr schöner Chorus-Effekt, der unauffällig arbeiten kann, den man aber auch bis an die Grenze zu Phaser/Flanger treiben kann, wie etwa beim Intro von Metallica‘s Sanitarium. Durch die Stereoausgabe (geht natürlich auch Mono für den Amp) kann man sehr, sehr schöne Stereoaufnahmen machen. Topp!!! Noch einen Kommentar meinerseits zur Rezension „Billig“ von „Pseudonym“: warum ist Amazon nicht in der Lage diese offenbar falsch eingestellte Pseudo-Rezension zu löschen? „Pseudonym“ hat billige Lautsprecher getestet und keinesfalls dieses Gitarreneffekt-Pedal.

Fait exactement le travail dont elle a été conçu, Chorus !!! Avec Boss tu peux pas te tromper.....
