Great tool for anybody with a septic system!
I just checked my septic tanks and also the tanks of both of my next door neighbors. This tool worked exactly as described! Great for determining how your system is working, when to pump the tank and also for determining future intervals for tank pumping.Not that it would make much difference in most calculations for determining when to pump, but as you have to lift the tool an inch to get the stopper to seal on the bottom, I added an additional inch to the amount of sludge as measured on the tool.Why guess? Use Septic Checker and know when you need to pump!

easy to check your tank
this worked just as easy as it was described and what you would find in their video. simple to setup, use and clean. you can rest assured that you know the state of your septic tank and weather or not you should have it pumped. depending on where you live that could save you quite a bit of money.

I have to pump my specialty, aerated, septic tank regularly to keep it functioning properly. This septic checker worked as advertised, and allows me to monitor sludge and scum layer buildup, so I know when I need to pump the system again.

Quality version of sludge checker and the best price I could find anywhere. Very good quality.It does not come with a case but I don't plan to take it anywhere so I don't need one and anyone could make a case very easily anyway. Works perfect for checking septic sludge and an 8 footer is plenty long for most residential tanks. Mine is typical, 4 feet in depth and this was plenty long. The plug system for holding the sample works perfectly.You will get an unambiguous sample of the septic sludge accumulation. Comes with good instructions and a pair of poly gloves.
