One of the best bluetooth speakers available
The Stanmore II is not my first Marshall product. I already own the first generation of Stanmore and Woburn and the portable Stockwell. I can therefore say that I know quite well the Marshall lineup. Stanmore II is the sweet spot within the product range as it is compact but capable of high performance. The Acton is too tiny and cannot play at a similar volume or ensure the same bass response. On the other hand, the Woburn can be even louder and richer in bass range thanks to its two woofers. If space is not an issue Woburn can deliver the best performance but your neighbors may not appreciate it as much you do. All in all the Stanmore II is a very good product that will please any user, even the most demanding: • Built quality: As any Marshall products, it is built paying attention to details. It is entirely covered with high quality black vinyl, details are made of real brass and knobs are rubberized for easier grip. • Features: Stanmore II offers very good connectivity thanks to RCA, 3.5mm Jack and Bluetooth 5.0. The wireless connection allows to keep two devices connected at a time and, by playing a song on one of them, the other one will be automatically paused if already playing. In addition to this the App allows to pair multiple Marshall products together and fine tune the sound with 5 bands EQ. Bluetooth connection is low latency and ensures no lag between video and audio while watching a movie. All the knobs of Stanmore II are digital and show the level with nice red leds whose intensity can be dimmed. • Sound quality: if compared to the previous generation there is a difference in timbre of sound. Stanmore I was smoother with less extension to the high end. Probably with Stanmore II new tweeters have been used to increase efficiency and this led to a well detailed sound which is sharper than before. Overall sound quality is very good and the DSP makes sure that the sound is always balanced and undistorted. • Optical audio: the Stanmore II lost the optical connection that was available in the first generation. Beware of this in case you want to use it also as a soundbar for your TV and that with a few £ an external converter can be added and connected to RCA input. • Volume management: this is definitely a step forward on the previous generation. Stanmore I and the connected Bluetooth device had two different volumes that had to be adjusted individually. With Stanmore II the master volume is unique and can be set either from the speaker or from a phone. By spinning the knob on the speaker, you will see the volume on your phone increase or decrease accordingly. • Play/Pause/Skip button: a multifunctional button, missing in Stanmore I, has been added. It is very useful.

Great Speaker
I've had a Bose Sounddock for a long time and used a bluetooth adapter since iPhones moved to the lightning connector (yes it's that old) and so it was about time I upgraded. I needed something that sounds good but also can fill a decent sized room if needed, and if it looked nice then it's a bonus. The Marshall not only had classic looks but has an impressive sound. It will easily fill most lounge's unless you live in a mansion, and has very good equalizer settings within the phone app. What's nice is there's volume and tone controls on the unit itself which plays into the retro looks somewhat and also feeds into the look of the guitar amp background of Marshall. You can control the sound quickly from these controls (just bass and treble) or with more detail using the app which has a more usual equalizer setting. Bluetooth connection was quick and easy. The sound does distort slightly is really pushed to maximum volume, however the volume is then pretty loud and not really somewhere you'd want to go. To be honest if you needed to go that loud you'd probably be wanting to look for a proper full stereo system or at least getting a pair of these to use in combination. Overall, really pleased with the Stanmore II. Looks great (especially if you like the Marshall guitar amp look) and has more than enough quality sound/volume for most rooms in the average house and even shouldn't be a problem outdoors for bbq's etc.

Absolutely the best looking speaker
TL; DR - Only buy this if your heart is set on this speaker, otherwise you can easily find better value elsewhere This speaker came very well-packaged and completely undamaged. The product came with both UK and EU plugs so I can continue to use the speaker when I move to France. I would say my primary motivation for purchasing this speaker was twofold - I appreciated the RCA inputs on the back of the speaker, which I could use to leave my turntable permanently plugged in, and its wires are hidden, and secondly, the speaker is incredibly aesthetic. All this being said the speaker does perform, amazing sound quality, useful app (which you don't HAVE to use) and incredible form factor and build quality. My one issue with the speaker is that you could purchase a speaker that outperforms this one for a much lower price, however I believe that many, like me, are buying it for the aesthetics DESPITE the price, not because of the value (which is non-existent)

Sounds good, simple to use, solid build and looks great.
We bought this in white. I’m not an audiophile but I appreciate a certain quality of music when I’m listening. I have products from Bang and Olufsen and Bowers & Wilkins. This Marshall speaker sits at their entry level sound quality. It’s happiest at mid to high volume levels where it’s confident and you can hear the layers of music clearly. At lower volume levels it’s less impressive, so if you’re planning to use this as a provider of low level background noise, go for something else; this speaker suits a kitchen or living area where you want to really “play the music”. Build seems solid, all the nobs etc are smooth and feel as though they’ll last for years. For the price I think it’s great as a non-audiophile system that handles mainstream digital formats well. If you’re into high res, you may want to look at something a little more refined. Oh and it’s loud and it likes it!

Worthy Purchase
The Marshall Stanmore II is a powerhouse of sound, delivering rich, vibrant audio with a classic rock-and-roll aesthetic. Its retro design adds a touch of vintage flair to any room, while the modern connectivity options make it versatile. The bass is impressive, providing a robust foundation for various music genres. The control knobs offer a tactile and intuitive user experience. However, the size may not suit smaller spaces. Overall, the Stanmore II is a stylish and high-performing speaker that appeals to audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike.

. . Die Bluetooth Anbindung klappte im 2. Anlauf. Absolut einwandfrei. Beim ersten Versuch war ich zu hibbelig . . konnte es kaum erwarten . .

This would be awesome if there is an available version that can connect to the wifi and use Alexa. But sound quality is superb.
