Product Description The Artist performs music from his critically-acclaimed album "Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic," as well as selections from his vault of smash hits and pop classics. Filmed at Paisley Park Studio in Minneapolis, where a multi-piece band, including legendary bass player Larry Graham and members of the Family Stone, join the Artist and his special guests in this spectacular historical event. Songs: Let's Go Crazy, She's Always in My Hair, U Got the Look, Kiss, Jungle Love (Morris Day and the Time), The Bird (Morris Day and the Time), American Woman (Lenny Kravitz), Fly Away (Lenny Kravitz), Get Off, Medley (Rosie Gaines, Mike Scott, Maceo Parker), It's Alright, Everyday People (Cynthia Robinson, Gerry Martini), Higher, Purple Rain, The Christ, Blues Medley (Maceo Parker, Johnny Blackshire), Nothing Compares 2 U, Take Me With U/Raspberry Beret, The Greatest Romance Ever Sold, Baby Knows, Baby I'm a Star, 1999. .com Back in 1983, Prince emphatically described how he was going to bring in the new millennium. Still, who knew "1999" would be so prophetic? Who knew Prince would still be around to make good on his promise? It's doubtful you were sitting home, watching a pay-per-view special on the last night of 1999, but know this: The Artist, Prince--whatever he's calling himself on a daily basis--understands how to throw one amazing party. This DVD not only presents the entire 21-song pay-per-view in its entirety, but also includes behind-the-scenes interviews and adds additional jams featuring Jimmy Russell, bassist Larry Graham, and George Clinton. Clinton is the key figure here, because over the last decade, Prince has essentially followed in the funk master's footsteps. Rather than just fronting a band (as he did with the Revolution and New Power Generation), Prince is now more of a bandleader. Here, surrounded by legends like Maceo Parker and members of Sly and the Family Stone, Prince displays the graciousness of a sideman, showcasing the musicians on his crowded stage. He offers backup vocals on the Family Stone's "Everyday People," and then plays cheerleader on "I Want to Take You Higher." Prince even gives up his stage to Lenny Kravitz for "American Woman," and to the Time for energetic, tongue-in-cheek versions of the hits "Jungle Love" and "The Bird." When taking center stage, Prince shows he hasn't lost a step either. His guitar playing on "Purple Rain," for example, is some of his strongest in years. All told, this is the best Prince concert film we've had since Sign O' the Times. --Dave McCoy

1999 fun Party event of Prince's
This was super cool! Prince totatlly made 1999 New Years Eve very fun and energetic! He had great performance and did a great medley of songs. I will warn you, it has quite a few of cameos by other people. So if you are the type that prefers to see just Prince, then this is not for you. Unless you are cool with skipping to the next parts...Larry Graham was a highlight for me. He always looks good and plays the heck out of a bass! Seeing Lenny kravitz too was alot of fun!!This was all done by Paisley Park at Paisley Park and I was impressed by that. Maybe not a must have for Prince fans, but definately worth owning. And a must for those that like parties and funk!!!

PRINCE- RAVE ( The Best Prince performance I've Ever seen!!!!)
Prince is unbelievable in his performance....SEXY, INTENSE, PLAYFUL, MAGICAL...... I can't get enough of it! Prince prances around that stage with such confidence and sexiness and he owns it like no other performer ever has (or ever will). The music is a non-stop energetic thrill ride that will have you dancing and singing like you're right there....Live!! You can watch it a thousand times and it never gets old....it gets better. My only wish is that I could have been there to feel the love and joy only Prince can deliver. My heart is broken, it's so difficult to believe that he's gone, but for me, watching this concert brings him back to life momentarily and heals my soul. Thank you Prince for sharing your musical journey....your music will live on forever. If you are a true Prince fan, add this concert to your collection. Trust and believe you won't regret buying it....Ever!!!

This is SPECTACULAR!!!!
I cannot say enough but I will start with this:First off: This seller went above and beyond to help me find the 'lost' DVD in the mail. When I tracked and it was not where it was 'stated' to have been delivered, I freaked out (yup...I got upset) and went to them. They took the time to communicate with me every day. They found that it actually was delivered to my Property Management office. I went and they did not have it. However, I had another package delivered and they found it. I quickly brought it home and immediately put it into my Theatre. O to the Emm and Gee. It is fantastic. The visual is crisp. The music, of course, is amazing. I could not be anymore pleased! It was worth every dime I paid. I want to EMPHASIZE that this seller is TOP NOTCH!

A Milion Stars!!
This is the best concert I have ever seen In my life!!! Bought this because I have always loved Prince's music, and had seen a clip of him and Lenny Kravitz performing "American Woman" and I was crazy about it. Started searching where I could get a copy of that particular song and I came across this concert, so I went for it. Oh my , I just couldn't ever say enough to express how fantastic this two hours almost concert is! Probably have watched it a dozen times so far and will dozens of times more.. My deepest regret is that I never saw Prince live in concert. The seller had prompt perfect condition delivery also. As a matter of fact, I was telling 3 of my friends how awesome this concert is. and thought, no way am I ever lending this to anyone, so I bought 3 more copies for gifts for them, and they were just as crazy about this concert as I. Again prompt service and perfect delivery from the seller. Do not hesitate for a second., buy this and enjoy, The man was a true musical genius!!!

"23 Prescriptions In A One-Night Stand".
It's a great celebration party in 1999 at Paisley Park Studios, Prince playing "1999" for the last time! Prince is now a fully devoted Jehovah's witness, his usual sexual overtures are a bit toned down, in "Get Off" : it's 23 prescriptions in a one-night stand instead of 23 positions in a one-night stand, song being from CD "Diamonds And Pearls" and the song "The Cross" from CD "Sign O' The Times" becomes "The Christ" . Prince is however magnificent in guitar & everything else he does, but more concetration on his own music would have made the release even much better (instead of the music of The Time/Lenny Kravitz/George Clinton/Larry Graham/etc). I thought CD "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" (RUTJF) would be well represented as Prince plays the song "1999" for the last time & promoting his new album RUTJF! Only two songs "Greatest Romance" & "Baby Knows" are from RUTJF. Despite these criticisms, Prince is Prince, he really knows how to party like it's 1999 & can present music (his own or others) in ways very few musicians would match! Great release by His Royal Purple Highness supported by great musicians like Lenny Kravitz, Rosie Gaines, Maceo Parker, The Time & many others. It's almost a party of the century but not quite, I give this DVD only four stars!

Rave Un2 the Year 2000
The ultimate New Year's Eve 1999 party. The party every Prince fan would have wanted to attend. Prince is at his very very best. He was amazing as was Larry Graham and the NPG (Rosie Gaines) and guests Lenny Kravitz - Morris Day & The Time - and other special artists & guests. Just when you think it was over...Prince grabs you and spins you around for another ride. He gives you his hits - he sings blues - he does rock. Since I couldn't be there LIVE; I am so glad that I bought it. I felt like I was there. He is truly amazing...but of course......he is PRINCE..!!!!!

Loved This
After visiting Paisley Park 10/8/16 for my first time, it was so nice to see Prince's concert hall with him in it, and all the energy of this concert. The sound quality was very good, and I don't even have Blu-Ray. I don't see how any Prince fan could dislike this in any way. He even played (albeit shortly) his $100,000 black Schimmel Pegasus piano, which is currently on display at Paisley Park. Loved this era of his Royal Badness!!!
