The mode is changed using the little switches on the board
I included the image that describes how to switch between modes.Works nicely, so far only needed the USB-TTL interface to use with an Arduino Pro Mini.It has the added benefit of being able to choose between 5v and 3v3 for VCC so it is compatible withboth versions of the pro mini.Mine came in a plastic case and included jumper cables.

Wasn't a great experiance
First impressions of the product - build quality. A lot of flux still left on the board. USB header was lacking in solder. Documentation, like others have said. There isn't any support info other then the couple of pictures explaining the settings on the amazon page here. The most unfortunate part of it all - I purchased it because of the RS232 support. Well, it didn't work. Spent quite some time playing around with setting because of the lacking official support. I have verified that all RS232 equipment works by using a different serial port. Just no RS232 working on this board.

No manual or documentation
There is no manual or description available online or with the unit that explains the dip switches or regular switch. It does not work as shipped, you need to do something with the switches but without and documentation it is impossible unless you want to risk changing switches until you fry something.

Lack of documentation
No documentation with it or on line. Need pinout and voltag
