Rio Beach Hi-Boy Beach Chair

The height of this chair is perfect. It’s not too high where you feel like you can’t relax and it’s not too low where you feel like you have to crawl out of it to get up. I think it is super comfortable to just kick back in the sun and relax. I also love that my mother who has had a hip replacement can sit in it and be comfortable and not panic that she will have to struggle to get up from it. Also the color is so bright and fun. And the pockets on the sides are perfect.

Love this chair, great color, feels sturdy without having too much weight, opens and closes smoothly, no wrestling. I have other RIOs that have lasted for years and I anticipate this one will too. I still use the others but this summer I pulled a leg muscle and this highboy is so easy to get in and out of.

I’m a 6’3” 250 lb 50+ year old dude. I bought the typical beach height chair and felt like a beached whale trying to get out of it. I bought THIS version hoping I could get out of it a little easier to mitigate my embarrassment. It worked perfectly. Great quality and enough added height to allow me to get in and out of the chair without feeling like FDR in a house fire.

Just a little more cumbersome than the low slung models but worth it if you like to sit up higher. Used it daily on the beach this summer. You carry it with the shoulder strap, not backpack style. The best feature is the deep recline - I think it has five settings and you can really relax in this chair. The side pocket is kind of skimpy - the netted pocket has a laughably small layer of insulation. There’s a zippered pocket but what I really would like is a real cup holder in one of the armrests. The other missing feature is some sort of padding on the top horizontal bar. If you are the wrong height will be bumping your head against the metal pipe. Neither are dealbreakers, it’s a Great chair if you can get it on sale.

I got to use this chair at the beach this weekend, and it was great. The ability for the back to go in different positions is a really big selling point, as well as the fact that it sits up as high as a normal camping chair. The chair isn't overly heavy and I actually enjoyed the green color, because it's easy to spot. There's also a cup holder and zipper pocket on the side, which is a nice touch. I definitely recommend this chair.

Rare review from me ... These are the most comfortable beach chairs I have ever sat in. The low ones i have been using for 20+ years are horrible. I live in southern California and go to the beach everyday. I ordered three and have some in my backyard now. The zippered pouch is great for keeping things out of sand and the cellphone pouch fits my enormous pixel XL (but the flap doesn't close) Buy them! You won't be disappointed.

Good chair for the beach. Well built and maybe a tad heavy but it is a sturdy chair. We like the height of the chair, easy in and out. We have seen similar chairs by the same manufacturer with a padded top rail, most likely more comfortable in the neck or head areas.

Got these for my parents since they can't easily get up from a lower chair. Overall happy with them except the little pocket on the side had a hole in it which my mom did not realize and she almost lost her watch she dropped in there. Must be a defect that it came not fully stitched. Cup holder is also small and not very sturdy. Chair is good but they could put a little more quality into the accessory parts. Everyone wants a place to put a bottle of water and maybe a bottle of sunscreen.
