The last knife set I purchased was many years ago, so I keep them for quite a long time. I've had this knife set for about a month, and I would definitely recommend it! Good look, good sturdy feel, a great edge on all of the knives out of the box, and they seem to be pretty durable especially for this price point! My only complaint is the angle at which the knives sit in the block. Something I didn't consider when purchasing this set is that my knife block sits on my kitchen counter, underneath a cabinet, which makes it difficult to remove the knives as they come out more straight up and down than towards the person pulling the knife out. Wish they would have cut a steeper angle, but I compensated this by cutting a small block of wood and propping up the back end of the knife block. It's not a perfect solution, but it definitely helped!

Very nice set. Sharper than any other set I have previously owned. I like the addition of the laser etch for the type/knife use. We had our previous set for 15 years and then the blades began to break off at the handle. There was also rust showing on most of the knives. I don't expect this to happen with this set. Recommend

Inexpensive, reliable, and long-lasting with care. They may not impress the neighbors, but they are a dependable workhorse for the home chef.I ordered mine back in 2021 and have used them basically every day for 5 years, doing everything from carving melons to butchering squid. They’ve have held up extremely well with hand-washing and sharpening every few months. They feel great in the hand and cut better than you might expect.My single complaint is that the hinge pin for the original scissors rusted out quickly, but I replaced them with a $0.99 pair from Walmart and you’d never know the difference.

We just started using these but I can already tell that they're well made, comfortable, and very sharp out of the box. The set has a great assortment of knives and comes with a sturdy wood storage block to hold them.You get 12 different knives and a set of 6 steak knives (18 total). I probably won't ever use half of them (or I'll use them wrong) but you Kitchen Commandos will know what to do with them.In short, these are well made, comfortable, and reasonably priced at ~$85 or so. Recommended. :)

I love these knives since my wife threw out my old set when she surprised me with a set of Henckels knives which I hated. They were serrated and if your a knife person I need no other explanation of why they sacked. These are great other than my wife complaining she keeps cutting herself because they are so sharp.

When I can take a knife out of the wrapping and thinly slice paper, that's sharp. When I buy knives, I usually have to do a corrective sharpening (angle and remove grinder burrs, even my Buck Premium folding hunters have a horrible factory edge) but these have an excellent factory sharpening. Stainless blades require a tighter sharpening angle than carbon steel blades, this sharpening angle of about 20 degrees is good, so maintain the that angle with the sharpening steel.One reason I bought this knife over others is the hardness (HRC55) is etched on the blade. equivalent to about 274,000 pounds per square inch. For reference that is almost as hard as a common file. A spring is about 130,000 pounds per square inch. This high Chromium stainless is hard, very hard. I would be cautious in applying any great deal of prying force. Only what is required in normal food preparation. (From experience. Almost everything I know, I learned from a screw up.)The appearance of the knives is very good. The blade, tang and pommel, or butt of the knives are a single piece of steel, which is good.The wooden block is massive, over 9 inches tall and heavy. The holes go all the way through the block for easy cleaning.I will edit this review after using the knives for a few days.Edit.I have relegated all other knives to the kitchen junk drawer.This knife set is very good.The handles on the paring and peeling knives are big enough for medium male hands. Although big enough for my hands, I think they would be comfortable to anyone with smaller hands.I would recommend that the elderly or infirm buy some cut resistant gloves. These are very sharp.The scissors are kind of cheesy, but work ok. It would have been nice if this set had the scissors same as the 15 pc set.The curved peeling blade needs some getting used to, but I really like it.

I've had this knife set for about 5 months now. So far, I haven't had any issues with the quality of these knives. Having read lower reviews, I've kept up with hand washing them and never letting them soak to prevent rust. They were incredibly sharp right out of the box. They have maintained that sharpness after 5 months. All materials seem to be of good quality. Given what a good knife set typically costs, I'd say you can't beat the price, especially with pretty frequent sales on the item.

so sharp and great value ! diced room temp bacon with one hand and a baby in the other arm . no slicing just diced into squares, pretty impressive.dont leave in sink though i cut my finger washing the frying pan barely grazed it!

Got these (because my 5yr kitchenaid knife set handles broke) and I am so glad I did....these are incredible and definitely recommend to anyone who wants quality knives
