ST2000DM008 Internal Hard Drive – 2 TB – silver, Mechanical Hard Disk

An excellent drive, typical Seagate. Ok, it deffo lacks the speed of an SSD, but an SSD cannot touch the Seagates storage capacity for the price I paid. Now my question was how the new Barracuda stood up against the old Barracuda with regards to read/write speeds. This was quite a surprise. The older model (version prior to using the eye catching green label). The older model was faster in both read and write operation's by about 20MB/sec. I couldn't be arsed setting up a raid config but I'm guessing we would still see the new drives being out performed by the older Drives. The price of the new 'Cuda' was for 2 TB a little over £50, or a little under £60, I have seen 4TB for 70 squid which is about the same as a 1TB SSD. Anyway, back to the Cuda. For the price if blistering speed aint that necessary and you just require quite a bit of storage the Seagate Barracuda will suffice with its lovely slim profile sitting noiselessly below my rather bulky WD Blue Label, The Barracuda serves a purpose and does it well. The thing remaining is reliability, hmmm. WTF, its a Seagate ffs, It'll prolly outlast me Ha, RECOMMENDED, 👍.

A good size disk to act as reliable data storage for an SSD boot disk. As SSD disks are not that reliable yet, we are back to the days where you should store your documents and data on a different more reliable disk. These are perfect for safe storage of your important files, either as an internal backup or as the main data disk. Fast (for a hard disk), reliable and silent. Simple to set up, but ease of fitting would depend upon your case type and size. My sons midi case was easy once I temporarily removed the RAM. I'd recommend and would buy again.

The drives are perfect, not a problem with them. I bought 2x 2TB 3.5" drives. The box it came in was left at my front door, not neatly placed, but on its side propped against the door and I'd guess it was not placed down gently, more tossed. The box included air-bag packaging, but only on the top of the drives. THERE WAS NO PROTECTION FOR THE DRIVES BEING KNOCKED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX. It's a gamble ordering these drives from Amazon, I'm showing you what score I got.

When I'm buying a spinning rust hard drive, ultimately the only thing I'm looking for is value for money. These days if read/write performance really matters to you, buy an SSD. If reliability really matters to you, just buy more than one spinning rust drive and run a RAID configuration, especially since setting up RAID has been so easy since Windows 8. And this is why I like this drive. It's performance is fine, though I wouldn't use it for an application that needs super high speed read/write, and I've got a couple of them in my box running together so I'm not concerned if one of them dies. This is a decent quality, good value drive that you shouldn't rely on by itself, but if you use it sensibly, it's very useful for the money.

This looks to be a good general storage drive for the money. Large capacity, easy to fit and quiet enough in the case. Its not the fastest but it will be quick enough for most people. I have had a few Seagate drives and they are usualy reliable.

Lack of packaging but this is a decent spinner to introduce to my caddy. I prefer the Constellation class over these but I rely on the warranty so newer the better. The price was unbelievable, I took advantage of the discount at the time. I think it was Prime day!

HD Tune programı ile 2 saat 20 dakika süren bad sektör testi yaptım, hiç bad sektör çıkmadı. En uygun fiyatlı, en ince ve kaliteli 7200 rpm hdd bu sanırım. Aslında 10000 rpm'lik hdd almak lazım ama kara borsaya düştükleri için alması zor. Piyasa maalesef 5000 rpm'li hdd'ler ile dolu. Ama siz yine de 7200 rpm'nin altına düşmeyin. Bu hdd'nin hızı yeterli, oyunlarlarda sıkıntı çıkarmaz. Forza 4'ü, 1tb'lik WD'den (7200 rpm 150 MB/s) bu hdd'ye taşıdım, oyun daha hızlı açıldı. HD Tune benchmark testi: Transfer Rate Minimum : 99.2 MB/s (225 ile başlıyor test tam biterken 99 mb'ye düşüyor.) Ótimo produto, chegou antes do previsto e fi todos os testes, realmente original e zero bala... Pode comprar sem medo.

18.12.2024 Eine deutliche Ausfallerscheinung einer meiner Backup-Platten als Warnung machten die Anschaffung eines Ersatzes für die schon betagte HDD (10 Jahre) erforderlich. Diese Platte ist vorformatiert, benötigte nur noch einen Laufwerksbuchstaben und eine nähere Bezeichnung und ist seit gestern im Einsatz. Das weitere Verhalten kann ich noch nicht beurteilen. Soweit funktioniert die Platte und es wird sich zeigen, wie sie sich im Einsatz zeigt. Die Platte wurde sehr viel früher als angekündigt geliefert. daher bin ich sehr zufrieden mit meiner Wahl. Hier stimmt auch das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis (56,90€ zum Zeitpunkt)

Très bon disque dur

Un disco muy silencioso y fiable con buen radio costo-tamaño. Las velocidades de lectura y de escritura no solo son las indicadas, sino un poquito superiores y me gusta especialmente que no se calienta tanto como otras marcas, lo que es importante para mi porque los utilizo en un slot externo pinchable sin caja. Si bien llegó muy rápido. creo que es mejorable sin embargo el envio, que se hace en dos sobres de carton uno dentro de otro sin burbujas u otra proteccion
