K&N Cold Air Intake System: High-Flow Air Filter, Increase Performance & Towing: Compatible with 2009-2023 RAM/DODGE 1500 Classic, 1500, 2500, 3500, 77-1561KP

For all you guys out there...I am a woman and I installed this on my 2009 Dodge Ram Hemi 5.7L. It took under 2 hours from opening the box to putting the last tool away. I took the time to clean up the engine under the cover since I had it off. I also Armoralled the engine cover. I didn't encounter any issues with the silicone tubes or finding the fender bolt as some did. The directions were pretty straight-forward with clear pictures. The entire system looks really awesome, although I don't think many people will ever see it. They have a hard enough time seeing the truck as it flys down the road! Now, it is going to be even harder to see. I had changed out the stock dual exhaust with a slightly louder Magnaflow right after purchasing the truck, so this truck has always sounded great. Dodge has a nice throaty sound anyway. The K&N intake makes that sound much deeper. It looses any hint of tinniness, and what comes out the exhaust sounds like it definitely came all the way from the heart of the Hemi. It does resinate a bit more at idle when sitting in the garage. But when you step on it, you can hear and feel the power difference. My son sent me a text message and said: FYI...They forgot to tell you that you now run the risk of sucking small animals, bystanders, and compact cars into your grill upon accelleration! LOL I will be checking the impact on gas mileage at some point and will check back on that issue. But, I didn't buy a Hemi for gas mileage! I would definitely recommend this product. It is well worth the investment. Amazon does have the best price. I researched that thoroughtly. I have always used the K&N filers (air and oil) and have been comtemplating this purchase for almost three years. I am glad I finally did it. The only thing I can say is that for the money, K&N should provide a new intake ir temperature sensor so you don't have to remove the existing one from the factory intake. Had I broke that getting it out, I would have been stuck with no way to get to the auto supply store. Having that part would have saved installation time and eliminated worry about breaking the old one.

received my CAI in 3 days even though it was 4th of july weekend, took about 20 min to install on my 2011 ram 1500 5.7 hemi big horn. took it out for a drive and felt an immediate increase in power on the low end and feels like a slight increase in throttle response this added power can be felt throughout the acceleration. added with the deeper hum from the exhaust and the immediate increase in mpg im thrilled with this K&N CAI, this is not my first CAI and only my third K&N, K&N are by far the best CAI's from the easy to install and product testing that comes with this i defiantly recommend K&N CAI'. I cant wait to add the throttle body spacer and full dual exhaust headers to the tips

I purchased this unit October 9, 2013 and installed it myself. 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 L Engine. I assembled most of the air box unit in the house. It takes more time than your reading on these reviews. Follow directions and take your time assembling. The OEM crank case tube from the air filter end may have to be cut more than 11 inches as per directions. Attach the air sensor extension cable to the OEM air sensor before inserting it into the intake duct tube, much easier. Use care when making the switch with this air sensor, very fragile. Every thing fit perfectly provided that you leave all connections loose. When everything is aligned right, then tighten all connections. This series 77 looks very nice, the polished air induction tube is the way to go. Test run was very enjoyable. Normal driving it is quiet but when you step on it aggressively, you will need more than horse reins to control this 400 + HP Hemi Engine. I couldn't be more satisfied with improved acceleration and have yet to assess MPG, however I did notice a 2 MPG difference on my dash digital display. My next addition may be a Magna-flow 40 muffler. Right now it sounds great with OEM muffler but may change later. Don't settle for less, K&N is the way to go. RP

Works great, really easy to install

I absolutely love this kit! It was easy to put on my 2011 Ram 1500 w/ 5.7L Hemi. For some reason it came with some extra parts (extra heat shield & misc hardware) which was confusing for a second, but other than that the installation was simple and the performance is phenomenal. And of course the sound is nice too! Simple to install, the directions are straightforward, and they even offer a video showing how to install it on their website. I recommend watching this video if you want to hear the sound comparison. **I know a lot of other people complained about having to remove the air temperature sensor in previous comments. It is actually very simple to remove without messing anything up. If you watch the video provided on K&N's site, they just wiggle it out in a circular motion. Easy peasy.

Nice quality and fit perfectly in my 2016 RAM 1500. Truck does sound a little better and my mpg has improved a tiny bit.

Installed on a 2016 Ram Laramie, noticed a difference on 1st drive. Excellent throttle response, feel a difference in low end torque. Hopefully I can see a difference in my mpg. Looks great, sounds great, would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple bolt on performance item.

Watch the YouTube video for installation. The only thing I found is the vac line was brutal to try to get on the barbed fittings. A heat gun was required to soften up the rubber. Still nearly impossible to get them on without linking anything. Otherwise awesome part to finish off my upgrades.

Makes my stock 17 sport sound amazing Took about 1 hr to install Was missing the screws to put the heatshield together but k&n sent them out to me quick
