Stella's Starliner

My daughter’s name is Stella, which is what drew me to this book. After reading, I like it even more for its great message that money doesn’t buy happiness.

As a preschool teacher and a fan of vintage travel trailers as well as Rosemary Wells, I had to have this book. Beautiful artwork, and a nice little story about how one man's trash is another man's treasure. At first I was a little surprised that there was no real conflict resolution between Stella and the weasels, because Stellas' family simply moved to another location the next day. But then I realized that sometimes you just can't change the weasels of the world, and it's better to move on and leave the "haters" behind. And that can be a very important lesson for all of us. Lovely little story, and I highly recommend it!

Wells creates a charming story about perspective - sort of "A Coat of Many Colors" theme. The shiny mobile home which is judged in the beginning as a sign of poverty becomes a gleaming rich home from the perspective of new friendly neighbors.

My family adores this book. Such a great message for kids and adults.

Beautiful vibrant colors in this book but the story doesn't have an ending. I have had others to read through it and they all say it's like the last phrase is a unfinished story.

I collect ""Stella" books. This is book about a child living in a trailor park. Other kids in school don;t and you know it's hard to be different! Rosemary Wells has out done herself here!

One of our favs teaches about bullying and feelings.

The story line is a lesson in tolerance and the illustrations make you and your young ones fall in love with Stella and her nifty lifestyle. I own an RV and this story was a cute read who know "east or west home is best"!

Always watching for another book by Ms Wells, as they are profound and touching bedtime stories with beautiful illustrations.
