The cage itself comes off of your bike when you hit a bump
The mechanism for securing a water bottle to the cage is nice. It ratchets, and you must push a button to release tension. This allows for a smoother action -- less force is required to turn the knob than with the Arundel Looney Bin cage. Unfortunately, that's the only good point. The cage is far more flexible than the Looney Bin cage, so whatever you put in the cage sways much more. The mechanism feels more fragile. Also, the cage doesn't have the regular screw holes for securing the cage to the bike that every other water bottle cage uses. Instead each hole has a wide opening on the bottom that narrows to a normal-width opening on the top. The idea is that you can slide the screw head through the bottom portion of the opening without completely removing the screw. Then you can pull the cage down so the screw sits in the narrower upper portion of the hole, where the screw head will keep it in place. This is a ridiculous system for a bicycle. I tightened the screws to the limit with the cage in place. But the entire cage came off of my bike and landed on the pavement on my second ride. When I picked it up, the water bottle was still securely gripped inside the cage. The cage didn't break, and neither did the screws. The slippery material of the cage allowed it to move up when I hit a bump, so the screws were momentarily in the bottom portion of the screw holes. Since this portion of the screw holes is very wide, the screw holes slid over the screw heads, releasing the cage completely from the bicycle. In short, you can use this only on perfectly smooth surfaces. If you ride over any bumps, this cage won't stay secured to your bike. If you want to mountain bike, don't even think about using this. You might be able to find an oversize washer to fill the large portion of the screw hole that is designed to slide completely over the screw head. But why bother? Every other option on the market uses regular screw holes that will keep the cage secured to the bike.

Finally, a really effective bottle retention cage!! Just NOT for while riding (unsafe)
I ride road bikes long distance on some really crappy pavement, and I've lost more bottles than I can count going over bumps and potholes - my spare bottles ride behind the seat. I've tried metal tightened with pliers, carbon fiber "tuff grip" cages and even velcro straps woven through the cages along the outside of the cage (the bottles just fall past the tabs on the bottom.)Until I tried the Bikase Justy. I was skeptical, but I had a what the heck attitude since I lost another Camelbak the other day and decided to give these a try. But these things WORK! I was a little disappointed at first that they weren't more rubberized, but the positive lock friction clamps, similar in design to a hose clamp but tighten easily with your fingers, and loosen with a push of the button, these cages GRAB. I tightened finger tight, grabbed the bottle and yanked, and almost pulled my bike out of the repair clamp stand. Pushed to see if it would fall out the bottom, and they wouldn't budge. Went on a long ride, they stayed fixed in place! FINALLY!! I did not test it, but they look like they reduce in size enough to hold your typical retail water bottle. Same for opening to a liter bottle or huge growler but I'l leave the testing of those to others.Note - I'd NOT recommend this for your primary bottle holder, as it would take too long to unclamp and retighten in my opinion and would be a serious safety / crash risk. For the second or more bottles, great. Just pull over to switch them out.CON: I wish they did not feel so much like cheap plastic. Hope they stay durable for the price. That's why 4 stars not 5.POSSIBLE CON: If you are a bike fashionista, these are black in color, not grey.Overall, if you lose lots of bottles, or have to hog them tight in various ways, try these retention cages. You won't be sorry.

Works Great
These adjustable holders are very handy if you want to use a non-standard bottle, such as a metal water bottle. Highly recommended.

A little difficult to use
If you do not tighten this holder, your cup/bottle will fall out the bottom from rattling around. You have to push a button in and turn a know to tighten the holder which was difficult for my 12 year old son to do.

It worked until it didn't.
I have had this product for about 3 months and I ride my bike regularly about 3-5 times a week. I bought this as it is adjustable and depending on the ride I go on I will have either a small or large water bottle. After about 3 months of regular use, the adjustment piece broke and the part is now useless.

it is actually black like 99% of the other bike goodies
Looks silver in the photo, it is actually black like 99% of the other bike goodies. Says it will fit bottles up to 3 3/4, not quite true - It fits my 40oz HydroFlask (3 9/16 wide) very well. You can jam a 40 oz Camelback Chute in it, which measures just a tiny bit under 3 3/4, but it is really tight - I wouldn't call it a fit. Seems tricky to push and twist the knob to make the cage smaller, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Not as advertised
Will not fit a 3.6-inch Yeti Rambler cooler, even though it is advertised as fitting bottles up to 3.75 inches.
