Madagascar [VHS]

This review is not on the movie itself it is however a review on how easy it is to accidentally purchase a movie from Amazon my children happen to actually accidentally get this because we actually have Disney+ so my children accidentally purchased this item the movie itself is pretty good I’ve seen it elsewhere it is just a movie about a whole bunch of animals and it’s really nice like seeing them have fun and stuff the kids actually enjoy the dancing and stuff that the lions and other animals deal so I guess that’s pretty great but I have seen this movie on Disney+ and it’s pretty awesome so if you want to buy the movie and don’t have Disney+ you can or if you would like to rent it whatever would be ideal for you it is a good movie !

It will forever be a classic.

I remember seeing this in the theater. I liked it then and still like it. After a recent trip to the San Diego Zoo, I felt the need to watch it again so I purchased my own copy. The jokes and animation hold up to the passing years.The lemurs are so adorable. A good voice over cast too. Chris Rock steals the show.

Good family night movie

Madagascar was a Dream Works animated comedy about a bunch of New York City zoo animals who get shipwrecked in Madagascar and have to learn how to survive outside of captivity.The movie has a large ensemble cast. While the main characters were Chris Rock as Marty the Zebra and Ben Stiller as Alex the lion, the side characters actually stole the show. There were a group of penguins for example who were also launching plots. They were so popular they ended up getting their own spinoff film. There were also some chimps who always talk about throwing poo at people. At the very top however was a colony of lemurs in Madagascar led by King Julien XIII (Sacha Baron Cohen). Their main priority is to party and survive the predators on the island.The dilemma in the story turns out to be Alex realizing that he eats meet and wants to eat all his friends the longer they stay in Madagascar. Can his animal instincts be overcome by friendship?Overall Madagascar was a very entertaining and fun movie especially with those penguins and lemurs.C

Great film,bought it in rememberance of a carnival we went to a few years back.It was entitled Madagasgar Europe's most wanted..Great cart great memories..

My Granddaughter loves Alex and his friends and when we bought the DVD for her she was so excited she loves it

This is a really good family movie - there's plenty of amusing characters, jokes that span the whole spectrum of my family (3 to 38 years old) and some really good quality animation.There isn't much of a moral to the story and you might need to give the younger ones a hug through a couple of bits at the end - but overall it's a great little movie that my kids (...ok, and i) have watched, and will continue to watch many many times.

I disagree with the other reviewers - there's plenty here to make adults laugh... lots of the jokes are aimed at the grown-up audience rather than the kids. It probably depends on your expectations - I wanted an hour and a half of entertainment at the end of a long week at work and Madagascar provided it. I wasn't after a cinematic masterpiece and no, it wasn't quite as funny as Shrek, but it wasn't that far off.

The dvd is loved by all my four grandchildren, aged nine to four, and by my husband too. Have a tv set in your bedroom, pu.t it on at six am when they come into bed and turn over. Watch it on a rainy afternoon, when you are tired after a mornings workout with the children - sit back and relax. Safe and fun entertainment for them all.
