Awesome fit. I have shorter legs and sometimes board shorts are too long and make me look stubby. I have the longer pair of Jag board shorts and that is the case (although they are super comfortable). These are the perfect length for my 5'2" frame. They also wash up well and are well constructed.

Sad, I lost weight and no longer fit in ...
Tailoring differs from the past. Rather odd fly fold over closure, no zipper, results in a bulgy front... who needs that?Sad, I lost weight and no longer fit in my older shorts, and now there is not a suitable replacement.

Love the design, the fit, and the approach
I love that these are multi-function. They work great as board shorts, swim shorts, or around town, especially before or after swimming. And they're stylish and sporty, the darts on the hips are flattering and cute.On me they're not quite as long as the picture, but long enough. They do have a little bit of stretch in them, not a lot. Pockets are thoughtful. The drawstring can be tucked away if you want to wear these more like normal shorts. They're fairly quick drying, so they're often dry enough to wear them in the car after I'm done in the water (30 minutes or so). I can also wear these on the boat, and not have to worry if I get wet, or even take a swim and not have to change clothes. Please note, however, if you're not as skinny as the model, then these will hug your thighs a bit. I wouldn't call them tight, but for me there's not enough room to roll them up.

The fabric is comfortable and quick drying
This is a pair of women’s shorts that can be worn dry or wet. From the back, the shorts appear to be standard walking shorts, with 2 short pleats at the top and 4 standard belt loops. In the front, there are deep pockets on each side with decorative embroidered swirl highlights. Running down the side of each leg is a reinforced strip with a snap on it that can be used for rolling the shorts up to make them shorter. The same fabric used for the strip is also used to reinforce the tops of the pockets and for the belt loops. There are riveted ventilation (drain) holes at the bottom of each pocket. The top of the shorts closes with a snap above a short zipper. The shorts can be secured around the waist with the included drawstring, or you can use a belt. The fabric is 100% polyester, no iron, quick dry. On size medium the waistband, which is non-elastic, measures 35” and the outer seam is 16” long. The shorts are unlined. A small Jag logo appears on the waist band in the back on the right side. The garment was made in China. These are a snappy pair of shorts for wearing around town, to the beach, or on a boat. The fabric is comfortable and quick drying, so you can wear them in places where you might get wet, or you can plan on getting wet, and soon enough, they’ll be dry again with no unsightly wet spots. The pockets are handy and deep enough for carrying keys or even a phone (just don’t forget to take your phone out before you dive in the water!). I generally wear size 10 pants and I found these shorts size Medium to be every-so-slightly big on me. If I wear a belt, they fit fine, but I probably could have worn size Small instead. Overall, this is a very comfortable pair of shorts that can do double duty for wet/dry occasions.

Very beautiful shorts, but a bit tight in the waist
These shorts are very beautiful, but this garment doesn't work for me. The waistband is tight and unforgiving. I can get it snapped, but I can't sit down without discomfort. I wish these shorts had a little bit of elastic in the waistband. I would love these shorts if there was just a bit ofstretch in strategic places. These are not cheaply-made shorts. This is a beautifully tailored garment. There is a lot of attention to detail in the design and stitching. The black fabric is thick polyester satin. The shiny side of the satin is on the inside and the dull side is on the outside. It makes an interesting texture contrast when you roll up the cuffs. There's more texture contrasts in the ribbons, over stitching, snaps and metal eyelets. I love these luxurious little texture treasures and I wish more clothes were made with these design details.I just wish these shorts were more forgiving around the middle. I think these shorts will work best on a person with a slim frame and flat belly.

Round Bottoms Fit, Full Tummies Don't
Since losing weight (a lot of it) I've been adjusting to finding clothes that fit but the problem is that one large for one brand fits more like a medium or extra large in other brands. On top of size difference, various fabrics and different brands cut similar items is ways that that fit different body shapes. These fit my bottom great, just like a "large" of this type of fabric does in two Macy's brands but the front, the part over my tummy, not so much. I can get them snapped and zipped but they bulge out and don't look ver good. The length is also a bit shorter than I expected but not too short, no bottom cheeks are shown. The drawstring front isn't really necessary and seems primarily for decoration. The front pockets (the only pockets) are functional but only if you have a very flat tummy or they just bulge. Having functional pockets at all in women's swimwear or shorts is unusual to begin with. I followed the care instructions and washed it in the gentle cycle and it turned out just fine.

great for sporty ventures
Made with a quick-drying, synthetic fabric, these shorts have several cool features. For one, there are tabs with snaps for holding cuffs in place should you want to shorten the length of the legs (for practical or aesthetic reasons). There are no pockets on the back but two roomy pockets in the front. There is a very thin corded drawstring at the waist to cinch in an imperfect fit. I find the cord too thin, so it constricts a bit when compensating for a larger waist to hip ratio (IE small waist + fuller hips). The shorts have belt loops although I cannot imagine someone wearing a belt with these. And even so, the position of them wouldn't hold a belt in place, so I assume they are merely for appearance or for clipping on a carabiner or such. The shorts are well-constructed with waist darts, reinforced crotch seams, etc. They make for great active wear for camping or watersports.
