Authentic Nautical Fish Net - Decorative Use 5' X 10' New

We ordered 12 of these and I was expecting a "fake" fish net, maybe made of string that looked similar to the real thing... What I got was what looked to be authentic fish nets made of nylon that looks and feels VERY real and strong. Super cool! In fact one of the nets had a paper tag that looked like it was manufactured as a real fish net. Although all 12 were not completely identical, they were all very similar in color and feel and look GREAT! I couldn't be more pleased with this product!

Completely agree with another review. This is not an authentic fish net as it will only suffice for an interior design application. It is too thin to use outdoors or even to look 'authentic'. I'll be hanging it behind a bed for a wall decoration and it will certainly work for that and I really do like it. The color is shabby chik, I like that too. Just be aware of what you're ordering.

I purchased the net along with a few Crabs and some Lobsters net to use as part of my Halloween Pirate themed decorations. I will use the net to partially cover my Pirate Treasure Chest and a skeleton or two and place the crabs and lobsters in the mix so they look like they are crawling over the bones of some poor pirate that was cast off into Davey Jones Locker and whose bones had washed up on shore ~ RRRrrrr (and yes I know that lobsters don't come out on land (but the kids don't)) and it looks cool.

It's a net, but not Funicello... The "string" is fine... fishing nets are not a thicker rope like say a volleyball net.... If you want thicker netting keep looking. Maybe look up volleyball nettting or something. Search the net! For me, this is exactly what I wanted. I am going to use it in a camouflage system. I threw it onto my cat.... she didn't panic and escaped with ease - So, I wouldn't recommend this for hunting unless maybe you added some weights. All in all, I am happy with my purchase.

I actually bought this product for a ghillie suit build. It's cut up in pieces right now sewn on an old set of BDU's with an assortment of jute attached to it. I give 5 of 5 for the purpose I used it for. It's easy to work with, a nice faded color, and the 1" holes allow more for more attachment of jute and local foliage.The only minor issue is it has some smell to it (which isn't ideal for hunting), but some use and abuse (mud, river water, etc.) should wash it out.

The description is "Authentic Nautical Fish Net - Decorative Use 10' x 5' New". It is a new item that is kind of between gray and tan or an almost sand (natural tan sand) color and while it is tied (woven) like fish netting the likeness ends there. It is made from a lighter cotton string than the typical recycled or recovered commercial fish netting. It is extremely soft without any body even from the knotting and it does smell new - fresh from China. It is a facsimile and somehow the word "Authentic" doesn't fit the implied Nautical Fish Net. We have several real authentic fish nets on our lake property decor and they have a little more body, are made from a heavier string, have a typical 3/4" weave pattern instead of the 1 1/4" found on this one and they have a more natural color of greenish brown tone. This net may work for your interior decorating or application but for the real image and or true authentic appearance one should make another choice - I will.

I could not catch fish with this net, no matter how hard I tried. So I hung it up on my wall in frustration. That's when I realized it actually looked pretty good up there. Thankfully, I am now able to buy fish at the supermarket, and I don't even have to clean it before I cook it.The bottom line is, don't catch your own fish. It's easier to just buy it.

A sturdy decorative net that has been moved a couple of different places in the house in the past few years and still looks new and is holding up beautifully. It is in the sun room now, and we hang the fake wasp nests on it in the winter to keep them out of the rain -- they look a little like Japanese paper lanterns on the wall. The net is perfect for that and just for adding texture to the wall during the summer. We love it.
