works well, was helpful when fermenting brandy to push down the cake a couple times a day.But beware the paddle is 48" long and not flimsy. it is substantial. I'd guess it's 3/4" thick and the handle is around 2" wide, the paddle end is probably 4" wide. Sorry I am too lazy to go get it and measure it. I might update the post later.

This is the perfect size to stir a large pot of seafood / low country boil. It has a hole at the handle with a little leather loop, so I can hang it right inside my pantry (it’s too long to fit in MY kitchen drawers). It washes easily, cleans like brand new, and I can spank my hubby with it when he misbehaves (jk). I bought it as a gift for my husband, and he fell in love with it after the first use. I was afraid it was too long, but he explained that the steam that comes off a large stockpot will burn your hands if the paddle is too short and so this one was perfect! It’s high quality and great value and I definitely would not hesitate to purchase something else from Winco. In fact, I’m starting to crave a little seafood boil now just thinking about this paddle. Mmmmm…. Honey, grab some crab legs and shrimp from the freezer! Yum.

I needed a long flat wooden paddle to stir big batches of dry ice root beer. This works perfectly. It was advertised as a gumbo paddle. It is very strongly made with good wood. It works well for stirring in large deep containers or pots. This was a perfect buy for us.

Strong and good quañity

This solid one-piece (not glued or laminated) paddle is a definite improvement from the laminated paddle which came unglued prematurely.I would give this paddle 5 stars if not for two blemishes:1. This wooden paddle is not smooth sanded over its entire surface, there is a rough textured spot which, if left alone, will tend to gather food particles and hamper cleaning. I consider this a quality control (rather than design) problem.2. Handle edges are quite square, rather than sanded or shaped to a smoother (1/8 inch or larger) radius. This makes handling less comfortable. I consider this a design problem.Both problems are easily corrected with a bit of sanding and shaving -- but why should this be necessary?

Good quality. I didn’t care for tapered edge so my husband squared the end off for me. Actually my plan is to stir five gallon bucket of paint. Not decorative so far.
