Maisto 2011 Ducati Monster 696 1:12 ScaleThe first cool thing to notice about the 696 is that the rear swing arm is spring loaded. There's a small coil spring around the "shock absorber" and allows you to compress the rear. The other aspect is the die cast metal fuel tank. The real 696/796/1100 actually has a nylon fuel tank with ABS plastic tank shells, so I am not sure why Maisto chose to make a die cast metal fuel tank on the scale model.The kickstand sticks out a lot, which is just like the real thing. It does not lean over nearly as much as the superbikes before the rear set of stand scrapes the ground. There is way too much steering angle on the scale model, and that is probably due to how the handle bar was mounted to the triple tree. The handle bar should be moved back closer to the fuel tank/steering head. The detail isn't too bad for an inexpensive model, but the forks shouldn't be gold on the 696. The LCD dash display isn't accurate, and this isn't the Plus model designed for the US market. It doesn't have the evap canister, bikini fairing/windscreen, so I am assuming it is based off the European model.Overall: 4/5 stars, the detail isn't too bad although they made the fuel tank out of metal while the trellis frame should be metal. The forks shouldn't be gold on the 696.

Good quality.Bought this just for the fun of it (I have a few other models of the bikes I've owned or liked). Matches the real one pretty well, but can't bring the real one upstairs :)

I recently bought a real 696 and thought it would be cool to celebrate by buying this toy.Its really great to see in the small scale, and fits nicely on my desk.Too bad it doesn't come in white.Be warned, it is very fragile.

Got this for my wife as she rides the Monster. She is a teacher and brought it to school for her desk. Instant cred! Kids love it. Solid build, nice working shocks and kickstand.

My girlfriend rides a Ducati Monster, so when I gave her this for her desk at work, she was very, very happy. Seems well made and will stand up to the rigors of office moves, occasional handling and of course... it's Ducati beautiful.

I got this as a joke for a friend. His 2 year old daughter plays with it. So its great

Looks great, it's about as big as a large banana. The side stand works, the front wheel can be moved left and right with the handle bar, and the rear wheel is mounted on a spring.

It looks a lot nicer in person than the picture.
