American Marine PINPOINT pH Controller

Surprisingly easy to set up, very complete directions despite some of the other reviews. Have two units in separate hydroponic systems for about 3 months and so far I’m thrilled. A game changer for maintaining stable ph. This is a monitor and controller (as is clearly marked) you’ll need to add pumps to disperse the ph adjustment fluids to your reservoir. I used a couple of 12 v drivers and two cheap peristaltic pumps mounted in a project box and the whole system ran right at $250. Much less than the other PH control systems I’ve found. Don’t yet know about longevity but I can actually leave my system for a week w/o worries. Some discrepancies between this readout and my Bluelab monitors, but after careful calibration there is less than .5 PH difference on one and the other is dead on, so not really an issue. Calibration takes about 10 minutes, have to go back and forth between 7 ph solution and 4 ph solution a few times to make sure you’ve got it dialed in, but the instructions are easy to follow. Honestly some of the negative reviews are surprising. The pumps are far louder than the relay kicking on - and they are pretty quiet. Guess it’s always possible you can get a bad unit but if that’s the case exchange it! And for gods sake READ the description so you know what you’re buying and don’t complain if you drunk order the wrong thing, lol!

Probe inaccurate even with weekly calibration. Excessive electrical buzzing when activating low or high output outlets and often requires a manual tap (literally hitting it gently) to actuate the outlet. Bad Purchase. Disappointed.

The instructions were a bit tricky at first to understand. Not very intuitive considering the system automatically resets very easily if you accidentally flip the switch up after you've adjusted the central value of the up & down.I've been using this for pH UP & pH DOWN. Took a while to figure the right settings for my reservoir and pH probe location. I'm running this system with 2 peristaltic pumps with 2 drivers (you can use wall warts with the right Voltage and amps) but I'm using 12V & 1amp drivers.

I use it to automatically control the PH of my Pit water. Seems to be very accurate and easy to use.

This is my second unit. The first one died after 1.5-year service. Unfortunately, there is no other alternative that fits my need. I hope this one will last a bit longer.

The seller gave great service in sending product ......but product or buyer was faulty ,could not calibrate !

I didn't unbox my product for almost 2 months after receiving it. The probe was not properly functioning the first time I tried using it. I spoke with Lou at American Marine who promptly sent a replacement under warranty. Great customer service!11.2021 update:This unit has been functioning well to date..... so far, very satisfied. I'll be ordering a second unit soon.
