This mag cap is not something i would use in the traditional sense and found putting it on all your AR mags is pretty worthless BUT if you have a magazine coupler (holding two 30 round mags; not 20 round mags) and using a EO Tech, ACOG, Bobro mount, etc. then buying one of these is really good. What is does:1. removes shiny brass from sight2. prevents rain and debris from getting into a mag3. quickly can remove on fast mag changes even with gloves4. prevents rounds from popping out This cover is not something that locks onto a mag BUT using with a mag coupler and having a Bobro quick release scope mount i.e. ACOG or an EO Tech (I have 2 M4 rifles set up with these optics and works fantastic), then the cover is held in place by the optic mount or optic and will not fall off. Doing a speed mag change, it comes off extremely easy (even with gloves on and / or low visibility) to perform. I do want to emphasize, if you are not using this cover on a second 30 round mag connected with a coupler and you do not have a device / optic to prevent the cover from accidentally coming off, then go with something else.
