These are very meaty and have a mild flavor; they are large sardine fillets. The oil is mild flavored; not olive, though. No smoke flavor, packed tightly.

Not Horrible, Not Delicious... Not Sure What That Taste Is
I eat LOTS of sardines and canned fish of all sorts, so I have a broad range of likes. However, these sardines are lacking a freshness, have an "oldish" taste that I can't articulate. There's an oiliness that I can't define either, rather "slimy" if I may say so. The fish didn't even look all that appetizing. I won't be buying this brand again.
