Strong, large, organized bag!
I received this backpack about a week ago and have been using it everyday since then as my work bag. I have been very happy with its construction, the size, and its many features. The bag has heavy fabric and heavy duty zippers. It feels like it has very good construction and will stand up to long term use. All of the straps are held on with sturdy sewing. The bag also has great padding on the shoulder straps as well as on the back of the bag. The portion that contacts your back is rigid to prevent anything in the bag from poking you, but it also has a substantial amount of padding. The chest strap has ample adjustment depending on the size of your chest and has a nice elastic portion for even more comfort. The size of the bag is very good for my needs. I have a 17.3" laptop that is also fairly thick and this bag holds it perfectly. There is not a dedicated laptop area however the main compartment does have a small separation pocket that the laptop fits in, the issue is it is to short to really help hold my large laptop and it is not padded. As this bag is not aimed at being a laptop bag this is really a non issue and serves the purpose I need. There is a another full height compartment which is closest to your body when it is being warn. This compartment is very thin as it is meant to hold a water bladder and easily holds a 3L bladder. In my current set up I do not have an obvious use for it, but when I go hiking this will be very nice to have and I will likely find a use for it at times. The other two compartments on the front of the bag have a lot of space compared to what it looks like they will have. The bottom compartment is especially big and is great to hold a lot of my smaller items. The last compartment is on the top of the bag near the small handle. This is a soft fabric compartment meant for cell phones, wallets, or other small items. One of the best things about the bag is the many extra features I didn't actually expect when I purchased it. The molle system is well set up and works great. There is a Velcro strip on the top compartment for name patches and the like as well as a larger patch area on the bottom. On the inside of the large compartment there are multiple large zippered areas for other items to be compartmentalized. The other two front compartments have a lot of compartments to put various sized items in and get very organized.

I'd give it more stars if I could
I'm giving this 5 stars because I really do love it. This is the Yukon Alpha backpack that comes with the Yukon Alpha Survival Kit. After ordering two of the survival kits, I was so impressed with the pack that I chose to order one for general travel use! I love the grey color. It allows you to have all the benefits of a "tactical backpack" without looking like you're military or a hard-core survivalist. The organization and number of pockets on this backpack are insane. There's a awesome zippered pocket on the back that is completely inaccessible if you are wearing the pack - perfect for a laptop or iPad. There's a small pocket on the top for a phone, music player, or easily accessible documents. Each side has a zippered water bottle pocket. The front has two pockets, both of which have inner organizers. The large inner space has two netted zippered pockets as well as a divider. The adjustable side straps allow you to pack it out full or keep it reigned in for a smaller trip. The padded back and shoulder straps make it very comfortable to wear. I'm beyond thrilled with this backpack. I use it for a carry-on bag or over-night trip bag. I'd give it more stars if I could. Like I said, I purchased this after being so impressed with it on our Tactical Packs. I also highly recommend the storm grey color. It looks awesome in person.

Rivals backpacks costing many times the price.
Ordered this for a friend and took it to him in Taiwan. He was looking at another backpack that was over $200. This backpack has been on my radar as I am a total bag ho' and "GearDo"! There was no reason to drop a lot of money on a backpack.Plenty big, great zippers, and stitching seems really solid, color was uniform and materials look quite durable. Great value for the dollars spent.Rode on my back really well, and was quite comfortable for all the walking I did through the airports.5 star for sure.

Good for price - lasted about a year of daily office / air travel use
Lasted about a year - I travel for work weekly. This bag was used for computer projector and running shoes as a carry on. The grommet ripped out of the bottom that lead to hole in the bottom all of the water proofing has peeled out from the inside. I used it everyday for $50 I would say I got my money's worth next time I will probably spend a little more and get something less disposable.

smaller than it looks
smaller than I expected, large boxy profile when full that doesn't distribute weight as well as I'd like. wound up giving away, bought a condor pack instead which has been great.

Good everyday backpack, but not made for heavy loads or military operations/rough use.
Good everyday backpack, but not made for heavy loads or military operations/rough use. It has a lot of zippered compartments and would make a decent book back, etc. I wouldn't take it on a rough hiking trip loaded with 40-50lbs worth of supplies, not sure the carrying straps would survive rough use. Cheaper version of the 5.11 model

An outstanding backpack!
This is a great backpack! Very sturdy and comfortable. Has the room I need. I’m a railroader and have had great service out of this pack for a couple years now. I need to get another one and put it away for if this one ever wears out.
