Does it need to be exposed to direct sunlight to work?

No it does not. I have mine located in shade, the sensor setting works great.

Can you change the rf frequency channels? to either match or be different (if i order more than one of these)?

Each outlet already has a separate frequency. I currently have 2 of these and 3 others from BN-LINK and they all have different remotes. Hope this helps.

Please post a link to the replacement batteries for the remote :-) the posted cr2032 is not the one in the remotes. It’s like a short AA?

Our remotes use a 12V 23A battery. Please contact us at support@bn-link.com for links as we cannot post it on Amazon's platform according to their guidelines.

Can it be plugged into an extension cord?

Yes. I had it plugged into a 50 ft extension cord and it worked
