Okay here we go, you have 3 shelves and two posts, on the back of each shelf are holes that you screw the post to and on the back of each post are 3 deep notches the hardware is 6 screws that you screw into the wall and the holes in back of the posts hang onto the screws, you have to measure everything out before you start and it is so easy I hung it myself, hope this helps I had the same question before buying this shelf, they really should show some shots of the back of the posts and shelves so you can see where the holes are.
