Case Studies: Stahl's Essential Psychopharmacology

Really awesome way to learn how to make a correct diagnosis and to know which mediation to prescribe. I like it and I've been telling other residents in my program about this book because I think it helps one to become a better clinician overrall.

Dr. Stahl's "Case Studies" is an excellent guide for learning what works and doesn't work in psychopharmacology. True to his integrative nature, he also provides recommendations for psychological therapies when appropriate. Dr. Stahl should be commended for sharing his personal experiences and vulnerabilities as a clinician in the treatment room. I highly recommend it.

great, interesting and informative book and alot of CMEs I needed to get as many credits as possible this year and not only did I get what I needed for recertification but I enjoyed the learning process with this book and would definitely get a second edition if it came out.

is a real masterpiece, very useful for the practician. An interesting choice of cases and exciting comments. Really inavoidable.

if you have the main Stahl book and are using it to study in class then this is a great book to have. Life saver for sure.

I learned a lot from this one

Excellent work- offers practical, real-life scenarios of difficult to treat patients with full spectrum of treatment arms; excellent work. Stahl is the father of psychopharmacology.

This book has very good examples of when to prescribe psychotropic meds and which ones to use. I have not read the whole book yet but the case studies I have read are great.

Stephen Stahl berichtet aus seiner eigenen Praxis. Gedanken, die er sich dabei über Diagnostik und Therapie macht, werden eingehend erörtert. Er beschreibt aber auch die Schwierigkeiten in der Arzt-Patient-Beziehung, als auch Probleme in der Kommunikation mit Kollegen und Angehörigen des Patienten. Und zu guter letzt schreckt er auch vor Selbstkritik keineswegs zurück, sondern unterwirft sein eigenes Tun einem möglichst objektivem und kritischem Blick und versucht auch herauszuarbeiten, was man diagnostisch, therapeutisch oder in der Zusammenarbeit besser machen hätte können. Gemeinsam mit Stahls "Prescribers Guide" und "Essential Psychopharmacology" eine Trias von geradezu verpflichtenden Werken für jeden klinisch tätigen Psychiater!

This book is incredible. It really an interesting read and nicely laid out, with easy to follow sections. Any one doing pharmacology or psychology will find this book helpful and very insightful.

Nothing special. Just a pleasant reading but don't expect too much insight for the busy psychiatrist. Look elsewhere.
