Marques de Riscal Reserva wines are predominantly made from grapes from Tempranillo vines over 15 years of age, grown in the best clay-limestone soils of the Rioja Alavesa. This variety withstands oak- and bottle ageing well thanks to its good balance of acidity and fine tannin. The Graciano and Mazuelo varieties, whose presence in the blend does not exceed 10%, provide crispness and a lively colour. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26C and the maceration time is never more than 12 days. Riscal Reservas spend around two years in American-oak casks, producing a wine which corresponds to the classic Rioja style: fresh, fine, elegant and very suitable for laying down for many years. Before release for sale it spends a minimum of one year rounding off in the bottle. Dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. Spicy and complex, the finish is persistent with subtle toasted oak character. GRAPE VARIETIES :10% Graciano 90% Tempranillo

Saw this wine in a restaurant in Barcelona ,was a bit pricey at 15 euros a glass , the waiter said it was a very good wine ,so had it in my mind to buy from a supermarket, found on amazon at a good price .Wine is excellent,really palatable with a rich fruity flavour .Have ordered 6 more .

To me, Marques de Riscal is where my love affair with Rioja started many years ago. Regrettably it's not always on off-licence shelves. This was bought as a birthday present but sorry to say it didn't get that far.

No es lo que vende
Tardó 2 días en venir en lugar de uno siendo premium, y además no es el producto que marca. Yo quería comprar el MARQUÉS DE RISCAL RESERVA 2011, y pese a que en el paquete la etiqueta marque que es el de 2011, al abrir, me he encontrado con la botella de MARQUÉS DE RISCAL RESERVA 2012. Que decepción.
