VALUE!!
Build a home gym over PLUSH carpet in a few easy steps! 1. Measure room and have Home Depot cut you 1/2โ plywood sheets to fit. Place directly on carpet. Allow dog to inspect. 2. Tape sheets together with extra thick black gorilla tape (add to your Amazon order!) 3. Roll out floor and push together to align. Run rolls opposite the seams of plywood. So HEAVY that I didnโt even need to tape it down. 4. Place equipment on top! Youโre done! I cannot BELIEVE how much money I saved with this product. Our home gym floor is sturdy, no slip, catches weights. Havenโt tested drops over 200 lbs but very durable so far! No curling so no tripping. Sweep clean. All of this over brand new super high pile carpet. Cheaper than stall mats. Medium odor that dissipates to very low odor in a couple days. Just has a traditional gym-like smell that I very much enjoy. The smell doesnโt make it out to the hallway. Incredibly minor variation in cuts, about 1/8โ in length. Seriously, save hundreds and pick this floor!

Great Product, Great Value
I don't often review products, but this product deserves the time it will take. I searched and compared hundreds of different brands and options for my indoor gym floor. I first bought and immediately returned the "horse stall" mats due to the smell and concern over the safety of the source of rubber (China). If you are doing an indoor gym, save yourself the time and hassle and go directly to this RubberCal product. The smell from off-gassing is significantly less and the install is significantly easier. The other recommendation I have is to go for the thinner material, which is contrary to the advice of most home gym bloggers or youtubers. The thinner (6 or 7 mm) product still lays flat and seams are not an issue with carpet tape. It also makes the cutting and install much, much easier. I took out my carpet and left the padding, then put down the rolled rubber over the pad. Perfect balance of cushioning and firmness for a variety of workouts. If you are deadlifting or dropping heavy weights, just get a thicker mat for that area. One last tip: use cheap quarter-round trip along walls to cover up cutting imperfections... you will never be able to get the mat to go perfectly along the wall, no matter how straight you cut. If you cant tuck under the existing wall trim, just add quarter-round trim. I wish I had more honest reviews when I debated for hours on which product and thickness to get. The bottom line is this: get the clean/USA-sourced rubber, opt for thinner material for ease of install, use quarter-round trim to hide imperfections of cutting along walls.

Perfect home gym mat
I purchased this for my home gym and it works perfectly. I looked at foam mats but although they're thicker, they're also more fragile and more expensive. If you plan on dropping weights on the floor, then you'll need a foam mat or something that provides more padding. Heavy weights don't mark or dent this mat at all - it's made from recycled rubber and it's tough and very easy to clean. I purchased a 13' roll then cut it in half for a 8' x 6.5' area (I taped the seam with duct tape on the bottom side). It was easy to cut with a sharp box cutter and a 2x4 for a straight edge. I also didn't notice any strong odor as other reviewers have mentioned. I don't have any problems with corners that won't stay down and I've never tripped over the edge because it's too thick. Without a doubt, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a durable, affordable mat.

Looks good and relatively easy to work with
Flooding required I remove the flooring and carpet in my basement "creativity" room. I decided this was a better idea than more peel and stick flooring, just in case. It's certainly pricey, but if it lasts at least a decade, it'll be worth it. It's not heavy, which is great for being able to move it around while setting it up, but it's not good for it needing to lay flat. I ended up using double sided tape to stick the edges to the floor. It works... okay. When I roll my office chair around, sometimes it pushes the material up in front of the wheels, making me wish I had put tape along the centers as well, so I have to ease off. When installing, I was on my knees a lot. They ended up with black stain on them from the flooring. I haven't noticed it in a while, so I'm guessing it's remnants of the production and over time they get cleaned away. Which leads to a questions of cleaning. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to clean them. I sweep the surface from time to time, but I don't know if I could also use a damp mop, if needed, especially to help along any remaining stain that I might find on my socks. They did smell for a while. Not THAT bad, but noticeable. After about two months, I don't know what I notice it any longer. It cuts pretty easily with a shop knife, just be careful that it's laying straight when you want to cut it. I'd have loved a wider size. I may do the rest of the basement with it if it proves to be a lasting option. I'll also need to see how cold it is during the winter.

So happy! Easy to install: unroll like a rug and done!
I purchased two of these rubber mats for my home-gym floor that is concrete and I couldnโt be happier with my purchase! These Rubber Cal mats are thick, sturdy, and will last me โforeverโ โ and they are cushiony enough to give me a layer over that concrete, but firm enough for my workouts, particularly where I have my heavy bag and needed something firm but with some give, and that I can shuffle my feet on but not slide around onโthey are not slippery at all and that was a huge plus for me, that they are not slick. They roll out like a rugโeasy to install! I just unrolled each one over the area I wanted to cover: done. They come in different sizes, again, like a rug. I ordered 4x6 and 4x7. I choose just plain black. Iโd definitely order these againโI have another area I want to cover. When you open the box, there will be a slight rubbery scent but it wasnโt unpleasant, and once I placed them in my workout room and went back later, I didnโt notice it at all. I also love that they are American made, a big plus. Very pleased! Recommend!

NO Curl, NO smell, NO slipping, NO tripping!
Excellent product. Packaged well and lays flat with NO CURL at all. It is thin enough so I don't trip over it but does a good job for my various workouts including jumping rope (and I am over 200lbs). The surface is smooth and my shoes stay put (i.e. stick) when doing sit-up on the exercise ball. I would have expected some chemical odor but to my pleasant surprise there is NONE! NO Curl, NO smell, NO slipping, NO tripping! No more cheap mats for me. You get what pay for.

Does the job.
I bought this to cover the floor in my tack closet in the barn. It's perfect. It's heavy enough so that it doesn't move around and stands up to the dirt I constantly track in. So far all I have to do is sweep it off but looks like I can easily hose it down in the spring if it gets really dirty.

Good product for cheap DIY home gym
I ordered two of these for my home gym and made sure they were the same size. Once arrived, one of them is six inches longer than the other and isnโt cut straight so they donโt line up. Itโs annoying but not the end of the world. They also leave a bunch of crumbles all over the floor so I have to sweep every time I workout. Also, Iโm a woman with longer hair and my hair sticks to these and is nearly impossible to get off. (Just loose hairs from adjusting my ponytail etc). Mine didnโt have a weird a smell to them and they work okay for my needs.

A purchase that saved me from buying a new stoe
At least 8 years ago i started using this recycled ruber called elphant rubber and was a very good purchance.I was amazed on how strong and eaasy to install that product is. My first use was for outside porch. It does not have to be glued or tied down an stays in place. You can drop any thing on it and does not even make a mark; easy to keep clean, snow or ice does not stick to it, it does not discolor etc... My second purchace now; after 8 years is for my garage floor. IT IS STRONG !!!!!!!!!

Great for gym floor
I cut the 20ft section in half to make an 8x10 gym area. Small seam between the two pieces, but the materiel is square enough that I didn't bother to tape the pieces together. I'm on a tile floor over concrete. This gives a nice grippy surface to work out an, and protects the tiles.

Good thick mat, easy to cut / trim. Thick!
Nice and thick - easy to cut with a pair of scissors. I used this as a base for my inflatable hot tub. It worked great, and I feel a lot better having this laid down instead of just putting the tub on my wood deck.

Not for dogs.
Itโs not durable. It isnโt strong enough for dogs. My dog ripped it in about a month.
